Somos como un espejo que refleja la grandeza del Señor, quien cambia nuestra vida. Gracias a la acción de su Espíritu en nosotros, cada vez nos parecemos más a él.

¿Para qué vivirás?
Vivir el resto de tu vida para la gloria de Dios requiere cambios en tus prioridades, tus planes, tus relaciones, en todo. Algunas veces implicará elegir el camino difícil en lugar del fácil. Incluso Jesús tuvo que luchar contra esto. Cuando sabía que muy pronto habrían de crucificarlo, exclamó: «Ahora todo mi ser está angustiado, ¿y acaso voy a decir: “Padre, sálvame de esta hora difícil”? ¡Si precisamente para este propósito he venido! ¡Padre, glorifica tu nombre!».
Jesús estaba en un cruce de caminos. ¿Cumpliría su propósito y glorificaría a Dios, o se retractaría para tener una vida cómoda y egocéntrica? Te enfrentas a una decisión similar. ¿Vivirás para alcanzar tus propias metas, la comodidad y el placer, o para la gloria de Dios, sabiendo que él te prometió recompensas eternas? La Biblia dice que «el que se aferra a su vida tal como está, la destruye; en cambio, si la deja ir… la conservará para siempre, real y eterna».
Es hora de definir este asunto. ¿Para quién vivirás? ¿Para ti o para Dios? Jesús te dará todo lo que necesites a fin de vivir para él. No te preocupes. Dios te proveerá de todo lo necesario si decides vivir para él. La Biblia dice que «todo lo que implica una vida que agrada a Dios nos ha sido dado por milagro, al permitirnos conocer, personal e íntimamente, a aquel que nos invitó a Dios».
Ahora mismo, Dios te invita a vivir para su gloria, cumpliendo los propósitos para los que te creó. En realidad, es la única manera de vivir. Todo lo demás es mera existencia. La verdadera vida comienza con el compromiso absoluto con Jesucristo. Si no estás seguro de haberlo hecho, lo único que necesitas hacer es aceptarlo y creer. La Biblia promete: «Mas a cuantos lo recibieron, a los que creen en su nombre, les dio el derecho de ser hijos de Dios». ¿Aceptarás el ofrecimiento de Dios?
Jesús te dará todo lo que necesites a fin de vivir para él.
Primero: cree. Cree que Dios te ama y te creó para sus propósitos. Cree que no eres un ser nacido por accidente. Cree que te crearon para vivir por siempre. Cree que Dios te eligió para que tuvieras una relación con Jesús, quien murió en la cruz por ti. Cree que, sin importar lo que hayas hecho, Dios quiere perdonarte.
Segundo: acéptalo. Acepta a Jesús como tu Señor y Salvador. Acepta el perdón de tus pecados. Acepta su Espíritu, que te dará poder para cumplir el propósito de tu vida. La Biblia dice que «el que acepta y confía en el Hijo, participará de todo, tendrá una vida plena y para siempre». Dondequiera que te encuentres leyendo esto, te invito a inclinar tu cabeza y susurrar la oración que cambiará tu destino eterno: «Jesús, creo en ti y te acepto». Vamos, hazlo ahora mismo.

What Will You Live for?
Living the rest of your life for the glory of God will require a change in your priorities, your schedule, your relationships, and everything else. It will sometimes mean choosing a difficult path instead of an easy one. Even Jesus struggled with this. Knowing he was about to be crucified, he cried out: “My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Thy name.”
Jesus stood at a fork in the road. Would he fulfill his purpose and bring glory to God, or would he shrink back and live a comfortable, self-centered life? You face the same choice. Will you live for your own goals, comfort, and pleasure, or will you live the rest of your life for God’s glory, knowing that he has promised eternal rewards? The Bible says, “Anyone who holds on to life just as it is destroys that life. But if you let it go, . . . you’ll have It forever, real and eternal.”
It’s time to settle this Issue. Who are you going to live for — yourself or God? You may hesitate, wondering whether you will have strength to live for God. Don’t worry. God will give you what you need if you will just make the choice to live for him. The Bible says, “Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God.”
Right now, God is inviting you to live for his glory by fulfilling the purposes he made you for. It’s really the only way to live. Everything else is just existing. Real life begins by committing yourself completely to Jesus Christ. If you are not sure you have done this, all you need to do is receive and believe. The Bible promises, “To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” Will you accept God’s offer?
Jesus will give you everything you need to live for him.
First, believe. Believe God loves you and made you for his purposes. Believe you’re not an accident. Believe you were made to last forever. Believe God has chosen you to have a relationship with Jesus, who died on the cross for you. Believe that no matter what you’ve done, God wants to forgive you.
Second, receive. Receive Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior. Receive his forgiveness for your sins. Receive his Spirit, who will give you the power to fulfill your life purpose. The Bible says, “Whoever accepts and trusts the Son gets in on everything, life complete and forever!” Wherever you are reading this, I invite you to bow your head and quietly whisper the prayer that will change your eternity: “Jesus, I believe in you and I receive you.” Go ahead.
