Un pez no sería feliz viviendo en tierra, porque se le hizo para vivir en el agua. Un águila nunca se sentiría satisfecha si no se le permitiera volar. Y nosotros nunca estaremos del todo satisfechos aquí en la tierra, porque no se supone que estemos aquí. La tierra no es nuestro hogar definitivo; fuimos creados para algo mucho mejor.
Para impedir que nos apeguemos demasiado a la tierra, Dios nos permite sentir descontento e insatisfacción en la vida terrenal. Nuestros profundos anhelos no se cumplirán hasta la eternidad. Esto explica por qué los seguidores de Jesús experimentan tiempos difíciles, tristeza y desilusión en este mundo. Revela, asimismo, la razón por la cual las promesas de Dios parecen incumplidas, algunas oraciones no contestadas y algunas cosas injustas. Este no es el final de la historia.
Tendrás momentos felices aquí, pero un día, si aceptas el regalo de la salvación de Jesús, conocerás la felicidad completa y te unirás en el cielo con Dios.
Oración
La vida en la tierra está llena de momentos tristes y difíciles junto con los momentos felices, Señor. Cuando las cosas se ponen duras, recuérdame tu promesa del verdadero gozo que está por llegar.
Day 59 • A Little Unhappy
For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.
(HEBREWS 13:14, NLT)
A fish would never be happy living on land, because it was made for water. An eagle could never feel satisfied if it wasn’t allowed to fly. And we’ll never be completely happy here on Earth because we’re not supposed to be! Earth is not our final home; we were created for something much better.
In order to keep us from becoming too attached to Earth, God allows us to feel discontent and dissatisfaction in earthly life. Our deep longings will not be fulfilled until eternity. This explains why followers of Jesus experience hard times, sadness, and disappointment in this world. It also explains why some of God’s promises seem unfulfilled, some prayers seem unanswered, and some things seem unfair. This is not the end of the story.
You will have happy moments here, but one day, if you accept Jesus’ gift of salvation, you will know complete happiness and joy in Heaven with God.
Prayer:
Life on Earth is full of sad and difficult times along with the happy moments, Lord. When it gets hard, remind me of your promise of the true joy to come.
