Ya no tendrán hambre ni sed, ni el sol los abatir, ni calor alguno, pues el Cordero en medio del trono los pastoreará y los guiará a manantiales de aguas de vida, y Dios enjugará toda lágrima de sus ojos.

Hace medio siglo, una canción famosa invitaba a los oyentes a imaginar cómo sería todo si el cielo no existiera. Pero sí existe. De modo que imagínate cómo será el cielo con un poco de ayuda del apóstol Juan, que logró ver un poco de ello.
El cielo es un lugar asombroso. Lo primero es que todos los que están allí se encuentran en la presencia de Jesucristo. La misma persona de la que leemos en la Biblia estará allí en todo su poder y gloria, aquel que amaba a los niños, sanaba a sus padres y contaba historias fascinantes. Pero aún hay más. En el cielo las personas nunca tienen hambre ni sed, y no se entristecen. ¿No te parece increíble un lugar así? Imagina sentirte bien todo el tiempo.
El cielo es algo que esperamos. Cuando pensamos especialmente en toda el hambre y la tristeza que hay en nuestro mundo, esto nos proporciona esperanza para saber que la vida no será siempre de esta forma. Que el cielo exista nos da algo por lo que vivir.
Oración:
Señor, no logro imaginarme del todo cómo será el cielo. Sin embargo, estoy tan asombrado por Jesús que tengo unas ganas tremendas de verle cara a cara y formularle todas las preguntas en las que he estado pensando por largo tiempo.
Day 45 • Imagine
Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
(REVELATION 7:16–17)
Half a century ago, a hit song invited listeners to imagine what it would be like if Heaven didn’t exist. But it does exist. So imagine what Heaven will be like with a little help from the apostle John, who got to see some of it.
Heaven is an awesome place. For one thing, those who are there are in the presence of Jesus Christ. The same person we read about in the Bible will be there in all his power and glory—the one who loved children and healed their parents and told fascinating stories. But there is more. In Heaven people never get hungry, never get thirsty, and never get sad. Doesn’t a place like that sound awesome? Imagine feeling good all the time.
Heaven is something to look forward to. Especially when you think about all the hunger and sadness in our world, it gives us hope to know that life won’t always be this way. The fact that Heaven exists gives us something to live for.
Prayer
Lord, I can’t fully imagine what Heaven is going to be like. But I am so amazed by Jesus that I can’t wait to see him face-to-face and ask him questions I’ve been thinking about for a long time.
