Día 29 • Un tesoro que merece la pena encontrar

También se parece el reino de los cielos a un comerciante que andaba buscando perlas finas. Cuando encontró una de gran valor, fue y vendió todo lo que tenía y la compró.

Si te encontraras una caja de diamantes en un campo tu vida cambiaría. Correrías de inmediato a casa para contárselo a tu mamá o a tu papá. Luego harías todo lo posible por asegurar esas joyas. ¿Sabías que Jesús dice que su verdad y sus caminos son más asombrosos que hallar joyas? Si pudiéramos saber lo increíble que es vivir para Jesús lo haríamos con todo nuestro corazón. Amar a Jesús lo cambia todo, pero puede resultar difícil creer esto.

Si encontraras un cubo de ostras en la playa podrías pensar que no es más que un montón de criaturas malolientes y viscosas. Es posible que no creas que pudieran contener perlas de gran precio en su interior. Por ello, puede ser que en tu interior te preguntes: «¿Dónde está ese tesoro del que todos siguen hablando?».

Pero no tires la toalla. El tesoro de seguir a Jesús es más hermoso que cualquier otro que este mundo pueda ofrecer. Nada merece la pena en comparación; ni siquiera una caja llena de diamantes y perlas.

Oración:

Señor, ¿querrás mostrarme lo maravilloso que es seguirte? Resulta difícil de comprender cuando no te puedo ver. Sin embargo, quiero encontrar tu tesoro.

Day 29 • Treasure Worth Finding

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it. 
(MATTHEW 13:45−46)

If you found a box of diamonds in a field, your life would change. You’d run home right away to tell your mom or dad. Then you’d do everything to keep those jewels safe. Did you know Jesus says his truth and his ways are more awesome than finding jewels? If we only knew how incredible it is to live for Jesus, we would live it with all our hearts. Loving Jesus changes everything, but it can be hard to really believe that.

If you found a bucket of oysters on the beach, you might think they were a bunch of smelly slimy sea creatures. You might not believe that they could have valuable pearls inside. So deep inside you may wonder, “Where is this treasure everyone keeps talking about?”

But don’t give up. The treasure of following Jesus is more beautiful than any other treasure this world has to offer. Everything else is worthless in comparison—even a box full of diamonds and pearls.

Prayer

Lord, will you show me how wonderful it is to follow you? It’s hard to understand when I can’t see you. But I want to find your treasure.
