Porque ustedes tienen tan poca fe —les respondió—. Les aseguro que si tienen fe tan pequeña como un grano de mostaza, podrán decirle a esta montaña: «Trasládate de aquí para allá», y se trasladará. Para ustedes nada será imposible.

Examen sorpresa: ¿quién es tu maestro favorito? Tal vez sea el divertido instructor de matemáticas o ese profesor de ciencias que te deja hacer volar las cosas. Es muy probable que, pase lo que pase, tus maestros favoritos no son nunca aburridos.
Los métodos de enseñanza de Jesús no eran en absoluto fastidiosos. En lugar de usar términos elaborados en un sermón complicado, como preferían hacer la mayoría de los maestros religiosos del pasado, él enseñaba al pueblo sobre Dios usando un lenguaje cotidiano y situaciones de cada día. En aquel tiempo, su estilo era bastante radical.
Veamos, por ejemplo, el caso del muchacho endemoniado de Mateo 17. Los discípulos de Jesús no pudieron sanarlo, pero él sí. Sus ignorantes discípulo no lo entendieron: ¿por qué no pudieron curarlo? En lugar de un diagrama que solo te arranca bostezos o de una extensa conferencia, Jesús respondió con un objeto que todos reconocieron de inmediato: un grano de mostaza. Supieron de inmediato de qué estaba hablando. No tenían que obrar un milagro. Solo tenían que creer en el poder de Jesús.
Si él estuviera hoy aquí, podría instruirte sobre la vida usando tu batería, tu tablero de ajedrez o tu teléfono móvil. Jesús no es un conferenciante soporífero; es un padre genuino que te ama y al que le interesa tu vida cotidiana. Utilizará cosas que conozcas bien para enseñarte sobre ti mismo.
Oración
Jesús, gracias por ser el maestro supremo que se preocupa por mi vida. Ayúdame a seguir tu ejemplo de ser real con mis amigos, mi familia y mis maestros cada día de la semana.
Day 200 • Schooled
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ’Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Pop quiz: who’s your favorite schoolteacher? Maybe it’s a funny math instructor or that science teacher who lets you blow things up. No matter what, your favorite teachers are probably never boring.
Jesus’ teaching methods were definitely not boring. Instead of using fancy words in a fancy sermon, like most religious teachers of the past preferred, Jesus taught people about God by using everyday language and everyday situations. At the time, his style was pretty radical.
Take the boy with the demon in Matthew 17. Jesus’ disciples couldn’t heal him, but Jesus could. His clueless disciples didn’t get it—why couldn’t they heal him? Instead of a yawn-worthy diagram or long lecture, Jesus answered with an object that everyone immediately recognized: a mustard seed. They knew right away what Jesus was talking about. They didn’t have to work up a miracle. They just had to believe in Jesus’ power.
If Jesus were here today, he might teach you about life using your drum set, chessboard, or cell phone. Jesus isn’t a sleep-inducing lecturer; he’s a genuine father who loves you and is interested in your everyday life. He’ll use things you know well to teach you about himself.

Jesus, thank you for being the ultimate teacher who cares about my life. Help me follow your example of being real with my friends, family, and teachers every day of the week.
