Los discípulos salieron, entraron en la ciudad y encontraron todo tal y como les había dicho Jesús. Así que prepararon la Pascua.

¿Te preguntas si los discípulos se acostumbraron alguna vez a Jesús? En esta escena particular, él les manda ir a la ciudad donde se encontrarán con un hombre que tiene un gran aposento en el piso superior. Jesús les proporciona las palabras exactas que tienen que pronunciar cuando lleguen allí. Hasta les narra con exactitud cómo se desarrollará todo.
Los discípulos hicieron todo lo que les dijo. Tal vez hablarían sobre ello por el camino. Es posible que cuestionaran cómo sabía Jesús de aquel hombre propietario del aposento alto. ¿Se harían esas preguntas o les preocuparía de alguna manera? Quizás a esas alturas ya habrían aceptado que en lo tocante a Jesús, cualquier cosa podría ocurrir.
La genialidad de Jesús reside en que él no cambia nunca. Así como les indicó a los discípulos lo que tenían que hacer y lo que debían esperar, también puede decirnos cosas. Sabe lo que está por venir y hacia donde nos dirigimos. Nuestra tarea consiste en aprender cómo oír su voz y a continuación obedecer cuando él habla: será por medio de su Palabra, de adultos de confianza, de lecciones en la escuela y en la iglesia, de amigos y líderes, y de la oración. Puede ser que no siempre lo comprendamos de la manera correcta, pero a medida que crecemos con Dios, iremos perfeccionando nuestra capacidad de escuchar su voz y seguir su dirección.
Oración
Jesús, quiero escuchar tu voz. Como los discípulos, quiero tener confianza para actuar según tú me dices y confiar en que tú tienes un plan.
Day 191 • Did You Hear That?
The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.
(MARK 14:16)
Do you wonder if the disciples ever got used to Jesus? In this particular scene, he tells them to go into town where they’ll meet up with a man who has a large upstairs room. Jesus tells them exactly what to say and do when they get there. He even tells them exactly how it will play out.
The disciples did as they were told. Perhaps they talked about it on the way. Maybe they questioned how Jesus knew about the man with the upper room. Did they wonder or worry at all? By this time, they may have just accepted that when it came to Jesus, anything could happen.
The awesomeness of Jesus is that he never changes. Just like he told the disciples what to do and what to expect, he can tell us things as well. He knows what’s coming and where we’re headed. Our job is to learn how to hear his voice and then obey when he speaks—which will be through his Word, trusted adults, lessons at school and church, friends and leaders, and prayer. We may not always get it right, but as we grow up with God, we’ll get better at hearing his voice and following his direction.
Prayer
Jesus, I want to hear your voice. Like the disciples, I want to have confidence to act on what you tell me and to trust that you have a plan.
