Es posible que tengas algún conocimiento sobre Pocahontas, la nativa americana que ayudó a los colonos ingleses que llegaron a América. Ha sido ampliamente conocida durante más de quinientos años.
Abram (cuyo nombre fue cambiado posteriormente a Abraham) es más famoso que cualquiera de los que hemos citado. Millones de personas han sabido de Abram durante millares de años. En la actualidad se sigue hablando de él. Se le conoce como una de las personas más piadosas que vivió jamás. Se mudó cuando Dios así se lo ordenó. Oró cuando necesitó ayuda. Confió en Dios cuando era ya anciano. Dios bendijo a Abram por su fe. Seguir los caminos de Dios es el tipo de fama que nunca desaparecerá.
Oración
Señor, no quiero quedar atrapado en la persecución de la fama o de la atención por las razones equivocadas. Quiero que mi vida importe, porque haya vivido para ti. Ayúdame a ser un ejemplo como Abram.

So Abram went, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran. (GENESIS 12:4)
Abram was called the father of Israel. Abram’s kids started a new country, and it was all because Abram loved and obeyed God. He had faith that became legendary.
Can you name someone who had long-lasting fame? You might know about Gabrielle Douglas or Michael Phelps, top athletes in Olympic history. Maybe you’d recognize the name of a writer of a classic book, such as Jane Austen who wrote Pride and Prejudice or C.S. Lewis who wrote The Chronicles of Narnia. Or you might know about Pocahontas, the Native American who helped English settlers that came to America. She’s been widely known for more than five hundred years.
Abram (whose name was later changed to Abraham) is more famous than any of those people. Millions of people have known about Abram for thousands of years. People still talk about Abram today. He is known as one of the godliest people who ever lived. He moved when God said move. He prayed when he needed help. He trusted God even when he was old. God blessed Abram because of his faith. Following God’s ways is the type of fame that will never fade.
Prayer
Lord, I don’t want to get caught up pursuing fame or attention for the wrong reasons. I want my life to matter because I lived for you. Help me be an example like Abram.
