Tener un amigo, hermano o pariente con quien jugar, hablar y compartir (¡tal vez no el postre!) hace que la vida sea más divertida. Dios disfruta de la compañía de su Hijo Jesús y del Espíritu Santo, y le gusta tener una relación contigo. Quiere que tú experimentaras el mismo placer.
Aunque existe un lugar y un tiempo para estar callado y a solas, Dios nos diseñó para estar en una comunidad, un grupo de personas que cuidan las unas de las otras. A medida que creces, tu comunidad cambiará y dejará de ser el patio de la escuela para ser el vecindario, el lugar de trabajo y, posiblemente, alrededor del mundo.
Dios no pretende nunca que estemos solos. También está siempre contigo. Si te estás sintiendo solo, pídele que traiga a ti amigos y familiares. Y cuando tengas la oportunidad de incluir a personas que están solas, invítalas a tu comunidad. La vida es más divertida cuando la compartes con otros.
Oración
Señor, en ocasiones sencillamente no quiero estar con otra gente, pero tú has afirmado que las personas son importantes. Te ruego que me muestres lo valiosos que son los demás para mi vida y cómo puedo ser un amigo.
Day 174 – More Fun with Others
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
(ECCLESIASTES 4:9–10)
Having a friend, sibling, or relative to play with, talk to, and share with (maybe not dessert!) makes life more fun. God enjoys the company of his Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and he likes having a relationship with you. He wanted you to experience the same pleasure.
While there’s a place and time to be quiet and alone, God designed us for community, a group of people that cares for each other. As you grow up, your community will change from the schoolyard to the neighborhood to the workplace and possibly to around the world.
God never intends for us to be alone. He is always with you too. If you are feeling alone, ask him to bring friends and family to you. And when you have the chance to include people who are lonely, invite them into your community. Life is more fun when you share with others.
Prayer
Lord, sometimes I just don’t care to be around people, but you’ve said they are important. Please show me how valuable others are to my life and how I can be a friend..
