David sabía que podía contar con Dios. Tenía la certeza de que escucharía su voz, y no solo eso, sino que estaba seguro de que contestaría. Jamás rehuyó pedirle a Dios su amor. «Dame una muestra de tu gran misericordia», rogó. La mayoría de los chicos no piensan en ser tan atrevidos con Dios. Algunos de ustedes incluso se preguntan si Dios los ama. Pero David no. Incluso cuando cometió errores sumamente graves, tuvo la confianza de que Dios estaba loco de amor por él.
Dios no es roñoso con su amor. Te ama y te lo demostrará de un millón de formas distintas. Lo manifestará mediante increíbles puestas del sol, montes majestuosos y océanos rugientes. Puedes sentirlo en la calidez del sol y en la fresca brisa… mientras te das un paseo en bicicleta o atraviesas un campo corriendo. El amor de Dios también llega a través de la lealtad de un amigo, de la sonrisa de un extraño y de la risa de las personas a las que amas.
Pídele a Dios ojos para ver su amor por ti. Búscalo. Luego responde. Dile: «Yo también te amo». Y observa cómo crece tu relación con él.
Oración:
Señor, gracias por amarme. Gracias por derramar tu amor de tantas formas distintas. Dame ojos para ver tu amor y un corazón para responder a él.
Day 152 • Show Me!
I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer. Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes.
(PSALM 17:6−7)
David knew he could count on God. He knew God would hear his voice—not only that, David knew that God would answer. David didn’t shy away from asking God for his love. “Show me the wonders of your great love,” he said. Most ”ids don’t think to be that bold with God. Some of you even wonder if God loves you at all. But not David. Even though he made some pretty big mistakes, he was confident that God was crazy about him.
God isn’t stingy with his love. He loves you, and he will show that in a million different ways. He shows it through incredible sunsets, majestic mountains, and the roaring oceans. you can feel it in the warmth of the sun and the cool breeze—as you run, ride a bike, or race across a field. God’s love also comes through the loyalty of a friend, the smile of a stranger, and laughter with people you love.
Ask God for eyes to see his love for you. Look for it. Then respond. Tell him, “I love you too.” And watch how your relationship grows.
Prayer:
God, thank you for loving me. Thank you for pouring out your love in so many different ways. Give me eyes to see your love and a heart to respond.
