La historia ha visto una buena cantidad de genios. Albert Einstein, el científico del pelo revuelto, desarrolló la teoría de la relatividad. Wolfgang Mozart fue un niño prodigio de la música, que empezó a componer obras maestras a la edad de cinco años. Marie Curie, famosa por su investigación pionera en la radioactividad, se convirtió en la primera persona que obtuvo dos premios Nobel.
Los talentos no se detienen con el conocimiento académico. Los seres humanos también pueden hacer que sus cuerpos realicen cosas asombrosas: clavar una pelota de baloncesto, hacer un salto mortal hacia atrás sobre una barra de equilibrio de diez centímetros de anchura, tocar prestissimo (¡a la velocidad del rayo!) el piano y correr los mil quinientos metros lisos.
Nuestro cuerpo y nuestro cerebro son increíbles. Piensa en ello por un momento: si los hombres y las mujeres son capaces de semejante genialidad, ¡cuánto más inteligente y trascedente a nuestra comprensión limitada es Aquel que nos creó!
¿Has entendido los versículos de hoy? El Señor no se ha limitado a escalar una montaña elevada, ni ha recorrido todo un continente, ni ha viajado a la más profunda fosa oceánica. No ha memorizado simplemente las secuencias del AND, ni ha resuelto los problemas de matemáticas más difíciles. Salieron de su asombroso poder y su gran talento. De modo que si Dios tiene la inteligencia, la capacidad artística, la creatividad y el poder suficiente para dejarnos con la boca abierta, ¿por qué no confiarle tu propia vida?
Oración:
Señor, no llego a concebir ni una fracción de lo que haces. Tu brillantez me abruma. No puedo creer que quieras tener una relación conmigo. Sin embargo, yo también la deseo, así que mi corazón y mi vida son tuyos.
Day 08 • Bodies and Brains

History has seen its share of geniuses. Albert Einstein, the crazy-haired scientist, developed the theory of relativity. Wolfgang Mozart was a musical child prodigy who began composing masterpieces at age five. Marie Curie, famous for pioneering research on radioactivity, became the first person to win two Nobel prizes.
Talents don’t stop with book-smarts. Human beings can make their bodies do amazing things too: dunk a basketball, flip backwards across a four-inch balance beam, play prestissimo (lightning speed!) on the piano, and run for a hundred miles straight.
Our bodies and brains are incredible. Think about this for a moment: If men and women are capable of such genius, how much smarter and beyond our limited comprehension is the One who made us?
Did you catch today’s verses? The Lord hasn’t just climbed a tall mountain, trekked across a continent, or journeyed to the deepest ocean trench. He hasn’t merely memorized DNA sequences or solved the world’s toughest math problems. They came out of his amazing power and genius. So if God has more than enough intelligence, artistic ability, creativity, and power to make our jaw-dropping world, why not trust him with your life?
Prayer:
Lord, I don’t know even a fraction of what you do. Your brilliance blows my mind. I can’t believe you want a relationship with me. But I want that too, so my heart and life are yours.
