Genesis 15:3-6
Dijo además Abram: He aquí, no me has dado descendencia, y uno nacido en mi casa es mi heredero. Pero he aquí que la palabra del Señor vino a él, diciendo: Tu heredero no será este, sino uno que saldrá de tus entrañas, él será tu heredero. Lo llevó fuera, y le dijo: Ahora mira al cielo y cuenta las estrellas, si te es posible contarlas. Y le dijo: Así será tu descendencia. Y Abram creyó en el S eñor , y Él se lo reconoció por justicia.
Abraham fue llamado Padre de la fe, porque en cuanto Dios le hablaba, el le creía y le obedecía.
Dios le habla a Abraham por cuarta vez y le dice: “No temas, Abram; yo soy tu escudo, y tu galardón será sobremanera grande”, y Abraham le manifiesta su preocupación por no tener un hijo, en quien se cumpliera la promesa divina, pues una noche Dios lo lleva fuera de la tienda y le mostró las estrellas del cielo, afirmándole que su descendencia sería tan incontable como las estrellas. Abraham creyó en esta promesa y por su fe, Dios le consideró un hombre justo.
Cuando Dios le pidio que sacrificara a su hijo más amado, el sin dudarlo estaba en vías de realizarlo cuando Dios mismo lo detuvo y reconoció que su infinita fe lo había hecho estar en gracia de Él.
La tradición religiosa cuenta que Abraham vivía en la hermosa ciudad de Ur(antigua Mesopotamia, actual Irak).
Abraham caminó en fe, apoyado en las promesas de Dios. Cuando Dios le dice: “Vete de tu tierra y de tu parentela, y de la casa de tu padre, a la tierra que te mostraré“, Abraham le creyó, y salió sin saber a dónde iba pero ésa fe le dio la victoria ante la prueba.
Abraham cortó de raíz su estilo de vida en Ur de los Caldeos y salió.
Él aceptó este sacrificio y el Señor realizó con él la alianza: le prometió la tierra de Canaán, entre el Mediterráneo y el río Jordán, para él y sus descendientes.
Así también nosotros que hemos sido llamados debemos cortar de raíz con nuestra antigua manera de vivir, y salir de en medio de la maldad en la que vivimos.
Sin embargo, sus pruebas continuaron. Su esposa Sara, quien era estéril, logró concebir con la gracia de Dios y tuvo un hijo, Isaac, a quien amó mucho. Años después, Dios quiso probar la obediencia de Abraham y le pidió en sacrificio a sumás grande tesoro: el pequeño Isaac.
Este es el otro momento alto en la vida del padre de la fe, la historia que todos conocemos.
Confía a tal punto en Dios que es capaz de incluso matar a su propio hijo.
Ahora examinémonos, muchas veces nuestras emociones y nuestra lógica se oponen contra nuestra fe en Dios, y nuestra fe siempre será probada por las tribulaciones. Dios probó la fe de Abraham pidiéndole que sacrificara su hijo y como decía Pedro
1 Pedro 1:7
“para que sometida a prueba vuestra fe, mucho más preciosa que el oro”, así debe ser nuestra fe, pura y genuina.
La fe permite ver lo invisible, creer lo increíble y recibir lo imposible. Este es el tipo de fe que agrada a Dios. Dios quiere moverse a nuestro favor, aunque a veces no entendemos lo que sucede, Dios tiene el dominio, y de él viene la recompensa.
LA FE SE MUESTRA EN OBEDICENCIA
LA FE SE PRUEBA EN LAS DIFICULTADES
LA FE NOS HACE ACERCARNOS A DIOS CON CONFIANZA
LA FE SE ENSEÑA A LA SIGUIENTE GENERACIÓN
LA FE NOS HACE CONFIAR EN QUE DIOS ES CAPAZ DE HACER HASTA LO IMPOSIBLE.
Medita en como está tu fe, no solo es que creas en Dios, tu fe en Dios esta basada, si crees en las promesas que Él te ha dado.
Galatas 3:14 y 16
a fin de que en Cristo Jesús la bendición de Abraham viniera a los gentiles, para que recibiéramos la promesa del Espíritu mediante la fe.
Ahora bien, las promesas fueron hechas a Abraham y a su descendencia. No dice: y a las descendencias, como refiriéndose a muchas, sino más bien a una: y a tu descendencia, es decir, Cristo.

▪︎¿No has sido obediente a cumplir el llamado que Dios te ha dado, por temor al fracaso?
▪︎¿Crees que las promesas que Dios nos ha dado, algunas si son para ti y otras no?:
Oración: ¡Dios de Promesas! Abraham fue llamado Padre de la fe, porque creyó en ti y caminó en obediencia a tu voz y cuando su fe fue probada, no hubo duda en su corazón y le fue contada por Justicia; por eso Espíritu Santo ayúdanos a no actuar por nuestras emociones, o por nuestra lógica tu quieres que caminemos en fe, creyendo firmemente en ti para ver lo invisible, creer lo increíble y recibir lo imposible en el nombre de Jesús, ¡Amén!
Believe in God
Genesis 15:3-6
And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.” Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.” He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Abram believed the Lord , and he credited it to him as righteousness.
Abraham was called the Father of faith, because as soon as God spoke to him, he believed him and obeyed him.
God speaks to Abraham for the fourth time and says, “Do not be afraid, Abram; I am your shield, and your reward will be exceedingly great ”, and Abraham expresses his concern for not having a son, in whom the divine promise would be fulfilled, because one night God took him out of the tent and showed him the stars of heaven, affirming that his descendants would be as countless as the stars. Abraham believed in this promise and by his faith God considered him a righteous man.
When God asked him to sacrifice his most beloved son, he was without hesitation in the process of realizing it when God himself stopped him and recognized that his infinite faith had made him be in His grace.
Religious tradition tells that Abraham lived in the beautiful city of Ur (ancient Mesopotamia, present-day Iraq).
Abraham walked in faith, supported by the promises of God. When God tells him: “Go from your land and your relatives, and from your father’s house, to the land that I will show you,” Abraham believed him, and left without knowing where he was going but that faith gave him victory over the proof.
Abraham nipped his lifestyle in Ur of the Chaldeans in the bud and left.
He accepted this sacrifice and the Lord made the covenant with him: he promised the land of Canaan, between the Mediterranean and the Jordan River, for him and his descendants.
So too we who have been called must nip our old way of life in the bud, and come out of the evil in which we live.
However, his tests continued. His wife Sarah, who was barren, managed to conceive with God’s grace and had a son, Isaac, whom she loved very much. Years later, God wanted to test Abraham’s obedience and asked his greatest treasure as a sacrifice: little Isaac.
This is the other high point in the life of the father of faith, the story we all know.
He trusts God to such an extent that he is capable of even killing his own son.
Now let us examine ourselves, many times our emotions and our logic are opposed against our faith in God, and our faith will always be tested by tribulations. God tested Abraham’s faith by asking him to sacrifice his son and as Peter said
1 Peter 1: 7
“So that when your faith is put to the test, much more precious than gold”, that’s how our faith should be, pure and genuine.
Faith allows you to see the invisible, believe the incredible, and receive the impossible. This is the kind of faith that pleases God. God wants to move in our favor, although sometimes we do not understand what is happening, God is in control, and the reward comes from him.
FAITH IS SHOWN IN OBEDICENCE
FAITH IS TESTED IN DIFFICULTIES
FAITH MAKES US CLOSE TO GOD WITH CONFIDENCE
FAITH IS TAUGHT TO THE NEXT GENERATION
FAITH MAKES US TRUST THAT GOD IS ABLE TO DO EVEN THE IMPOSSIBLE.
Meditate on how your faith is, not only is it that you believe in God, your faith in God is based, if you believe in the promises that He has given you.
Galatians 3:14-16
so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Now the promises were made to Abraham and his descendants. It does not say: and to the descendants, as if referring to many, but rather to one: and to your descendants, that is, Christ.
Questions to conclude:
▪︎Have you not been obedient to fulfill the call that God has given you, for fear of failure?
▪︎Do you believe that the promises that God has given us, some are for you and others are not?
Prayer:
God of Promises! Abraham was called the Father of faith, because he believed in You and walked in obedience to Your voice and when his faith was tested, there was no doubt in his heart and it was counted as Justice; That is why Holy Spirit help us not to act on our emotions, or by our logic, You want us to walk in faith, firmly believing in You to see the invisible, believe the incredible and receive the impossible in the name of Jesus, Amen!
