Cuando Felipe le pregunta a Jesús en Juan 14:8-9
Felipe le dijo: —Señor, muéstranos al Padre y quedaremos conformes.
Jesús respondió: —Felipe, ¿he estado con ustedes todo este tiempo, y todavía no sabes quién soy? ¡Los que me han visto a mí han visto al Padre! Entonces, ¿cómo me pides que les muestre al Padre?
Y al igual le preguntaron:
¿Cuál es el más grande mandamiento en la ley? Él no dudó. Él no se equivocó. Él no dijo, «Hay muchos mandamientos importantes». No, Jesús respondió de manera fuerte, contundente y clara. Él respondió inmediata y enfáticamente. El mandamiento más importante, el primero y principal mandamiento, la razón por la que estás en este planeta, es simple: amar a Dios con todo tu corazón.
¿Puedes creerlo? El soberano, infinito, santo Dios, el Dios quien creó 300 mil millones de galaxias con su sola palabra; el que creó y diseñó todos los seres vivos, con gran variedad de tamaños, formas y colores que puedas imaginarte y mucho más; ese Dios quiere que lo ames. Lo que quiere de ti, más que ninguna otra cosa, es tu amor. Él quiere ser una prioridad para ti. Él anhela que tú lo ames en respuesta a su amor. Él quiere ser deseado por ti. Es absolutamente increíble, pero es verdad.
Así que ámalo con todo tu corazón, con todo lo que tienes, con todo lo que eres. Ámalo intensamente, ámalo afectivamente, ámalo obedientemente y ámalo apasionadamente. La esencia de la Biblia no es qué debo hacer y qué no debo hacer. No son reglas y ni regulaciones. No son rituales religiosos. No son fechas, y tiempos. No, la esencia del evangelio es amor. Amar al Señor, tu Dios. Agustín, el gran teólogo de la iglesia temprana, escribió una vez, «Ama a Dios y haz lo que quieras». ¿Cuál era su punto? Si amas a Dios, vas a querer complacerlo, así que haz lo que quieras. ¿Tú amas a Dios de esa manera? Amas a Dios al punto de querer complacerlo, querer agradarlo, querer hablar de Él. ¿Cómo amas a Dios? ¿Cuánto amas a Dios? ¿Cuánto conoces de Dios?
Bernard de Clairvaux dijo en una ocasión, en respuesta a una pregunta sobre por qué y cómo amar a Dios, «La razón para amar a Dios es Dios mismo, y la medida en la cual debemos amarlo es amarlo sin medida». No un amor a medias, tibio, casual y conveniente, sino un amor total, apasionado, completamente devoto. Esta es la razón por la cual tú existes.
Y si existes por Él y para Él, amandolo y teniendo en tú corazón tu prioridad siempre por Él, aprenderás a conocerle a Jesús y al igual al Padre; ya que ellos son uno y tú uno con Jesús.

Amado Rey, nuestro corazón cansado, atribulado y algunas veces confundido, se desalienta y brota el desamor, cambia nuestro corazón endurecido y coloca un corazón sensible a ti donde fluya el poder de amor y podamos amarte al punto de caminar agradandote en todo tiempo por que te amamos, en el nombre de Jesús. ¡Amén!
To know Jesus is through love

When Philip asks Jesus in John 14:8-9
Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and we will be satisfied.
Jesus answered, “Philip, have I been with you all this time, and you still don’t know who I am?” Those who have seen me have seen the Father! So how do you ask me to show them the Father?
And yet they asked him
“What is the greatest commandment in the law?” He did not hesitate. He was not wrong. He didn’t say, “There are many important commandments.” No, Jesus responded strongly, forcefully, and clearly. He responded immediately and emphatically. The most important commandment, the first and foremost commandment, the reason you are on this planet, is simple: love God with all your heart.
Can you believe it? The sovereign, infinite, holy God, the God who created 300 billion galaxies with his word alone; the one who created and designed all living beings, with a great variety of sizes, shapes and colors that you can imagine and much more; that God wants you to love him. What he wants from you, more than anything else, is your love. He wants to be a priority for you. He longs for you to love Him in response to His love. He wants to be desired by you. It’s absolutely incredible, but it’s true.
So love him with all your heart, with all that you have, with all that you are. Love him intensely, love him affectionately, love him obediently, and love him passionately. The essence of the Bible is not what I should do and what I should not do. They are not rules or regulations. They are not religious rituals. They are not dates, and times. No, the essence of the gospel is love. Love the Lord, your God. Augustine, the great theologian of the early church, once wrote, “Love God and do what you want.” What was his point? If you love God, you’re going to want to please Him, so do what you want. Do you love God that way? You love God to the point of wanting to please Him, wanting to please Him, wanting to talk about Him. How do you love God? How much do you love God? How much do you know about God?
Bernard de Clairvaux once said, in response to a question about why and how to love God, “The reason for loving God is God himself, and the extent to which we must love him is to love him without measure.” Not a half-hearted, lukewarm, casual and convenient love, but a total, passionate, completely devoted love. This is why you exist.
And if you exist for Him and for Him, loving Him and having in your heart your priority always for Him, you will learn to know Jesus and equally the Father; for they are one and you are one with Jesus.
Prayer:
Beloved King, our tired, troubled and sometimes confused heart becomes discouraged and heartbreak springs up, changes our hardened heart and places a heart sensitive to you where the power of love flows and we can love you to the point of walking pleasing you at all times because we love you, in the name of Jesus. Amen!
