Jehová te pastoreará siempre, y en las sequías saciará tu alma, y dará vigor a tus huesos. ISAÍAS 58:11
Al poner nuestra confianza en Jesús no solamente lo aceptamos como Salvador, sino también como nuestro Señor. Esta nueva relación e identidad requerirá que nos entreguemos cada vez más a Él y renunciemos voluntariamente a lo que conforma la seguridad y satisfacción de este mundo en que hemos confiado.
Puede que nuestro corazón ansíe satisfacción financiera, social, relacional o sexual, o que deseemos aliviar nuestro sufrimiento con comida u otras sustancias. Sin embargo, las posesiones materiales y las soluciones terrenales no pueden llenar nuestros profundos e inquietantes vacíos ni curar nuestras heridas. Por eso es que Jesús les dijo a sus discípulos: «Buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas» (Mateo 6:33). Todo lo que necesitamos realmente ya es nuestro en Cristo.
Entregarnos a Jesús no significa perder algo, sino estar firmemente encaminados hacia la mejor existencia posible. ¿Será esta vida perfecta y sin problemas? No. Pero nuestro Salvador nos da siempre mucho más de lo que las soluciones terrenales pueden proporcionar; y nadie podrá quitarnos lo que Él nos otorga.
Oración:
Jesús, quiero confiar en ti como mi Señor. Gracias por enseñarme a entregarte todas las áreas de mi vida y por satisfacer mis necesidades más profundas. Amén.
TRUST YOUR LORD
The LORD will continually guide you, and satisfy your desire in scorched places, and give strength to your bones. ISAIAH 58:11
When you place your trust in Jesus, you accept Him as your Lord. This new relationship and identity will increasingly necessitate that you abandon yourself to Him and willingly let go of the things that comprise your worldly security and fulfillment.
Your heart may long for financial, social, relational, or sexual fulfillment, or you may wish to dull your pain with food or other substances. But material possessions and earthly solutions cannot fill the deep, unsettling voids that you feel or heal the wounds you have. This is why Jesus told His disciples to “seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). Everything you truly need is already yours in Christ.
Giving yourself to Jesus does not mean you lose; rather, it means you are firmly on track for the best life possible. Will it be perfect and trouble-free? No. But your Savior always gives you much more than earthly solutions could ever provide—and what He gives you, no one will ever be able to take away.
Prayer:
Jesus, I want to trust You as my Lord. Thank You for teaching me how to give every area over to You and for fulfilling my deepest needs. Amen.
