El arte de pintar un cuadro no se basa en lo que puedes ver, sino en el proceso que ha habido detrás para crearlo. A menudo un cuadro empieza con la inspiración, la idea o emoción que queremos expresar. Le siguen los esbozos, el color, la textura y las variaciones que pueda haber en todo el proceso. Raramente el pintor produce lo que pensaba hacer al principio.
Nuestra vida con Dios puede ser como un cuadro. Empieza con nuestra fe. El lienzo es nuestra creencia en Jesús, pero las Escrituras nos dicen que tenemos que profundizar en nuestra fe aplicando los colores de la verdad, el entendimiento y el dominio propio. La belleza emerge a medida que añadimos la constancia, la devoción a Dios, el afecto y el amor. Estas cosas tardan en desarrollarse en nosotros. Puede que impliquen errores y puede que nos hagan acabar pareciendo muy distintos. ¿Necesitas añadir algo a tu fe hoy? ¿Harás el esfuerzo extra de embellecerte aplicando virtud, perseverancia o amor a tu vida?
Oración:
Gracias, Jesús, por haber empezado una buena obra en mí. Tengo fe en tu gracia salvadora. Hoy, Señor, necesito añadir disciplina espiritual a mi fe. Ayúdame a conocerte más, ayúdame a controlar mis emociones, ayúdame a perseverar y ayúdame a amar, en el nombre de Jesús ¡Amén!

The art of a painting lies not in what you see, but in the process that has gone into making it what it has become. Usually a painting begins with inspiration: an idea or emotion that wants to be expressed. It proceeds with sketching, color, texture, and variations in between. A painter rarely produces exactly what they originally pictured.
Our life with God can be like a painting. It begins with our faith. Our belief in Jesus sets up our canvas, but the Scriptures call us to add to the depth of our faith by applying colors of goodness, knowledge, and self-control. The beauty emerges as we add perseverance, godliness, affection, and love. These things take time to develop in us. They can involve mistakes, and they can make us look very different. Do you need to add anything to your faith today? Will you make the extra effort to become beautiful by applying goodness, perseverance, or love to your life?
Prayer:
Thank you, Jesus, that you have begun a good work in me. I have faith in your saving grace. Today, Lord, I need to add some spiritual discipline to my faith. Help me to know you more, help me to control my emotions, help me to persevere, and help me to love.
