Inmediatamente después de ese momento tan terrible, nos encantaría poder pulsar el botón de borrar. Nos gustaría poder retroceder en el tiempo unos pocos minutos, hasta ese instante en el que empezábamos a sentir cómo nos hervía la sangre y sabíamos que íbamos a decir algo que más adelante lamentaríamos. Sabíamos que podíamos perder el control porque ya no éramos capaces de mantener la cabeza fría.
Pero llega el momento, reaccionamos mal y, finalmente, pedimos perdón: es el círculo vicioso de nuestra humanidad. Por suerte, a través de la sangre de Jesucristo y de nuestro arrepentimiento, somos perdonados y liberados, y soltamos la carga de nuestros errores. Podemos empezar de nuevo, partir de cero otra vez. En algunos momentos, ese regalo parece mucho mayor. Hay días en los que descansamos en la gracia de nuestro Señor y Salvador tan solo para poder superar la jornada. Y no pasa nada: podemos hacerlo.
Oración:
Dios, cuántas veces quisiera apretar el botón de borrar o volver atrás y cambiar algo que he dicho o hecho. Gracias porque tu regalo de perdón es ilimitado. Acepto ese regalo con los brazos abiertos.

To the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. EPHESIANS 1:6-8
Immediately after the moment, we want to hit delete. We want to go back in time just a few minutes when we could feel our blood pressure rising and knew we might say something we’d regret. We knew we might lose control because we just couldn’t handle it anymore.
But the moment comes, we react, and then we apologize: it’s the vicious cycle of our humanness. Thankfully, through the blood of Jesus Christ and our repentance, we are forgiven, set free, and released of the burden of our mistakes. We are given a clean slate to start over. And some days that gift feels bigger than other days. Some days, we rely heavily on the grace of our Lord and Savior just to get through the day. And that is okay.
Prayer:
God, there are so many times I want to hit “delete,” or go back and change something I’ve said or done. Thank you that your gift of forgiveness is unlimited. I embrace that gift today.
