¿Tengo amigos confiables con los que puedo contar?
Piensa en tus amigos. ¿Son personas a las que puedes recurrir en cualquier momento, de día o de noche? ¿O solo están ahí para usted cuando les conviene? Es importante asegurarte de estar en buena compañía con tus amigos para que puedas saber si alguno de ellos no es bueno para ti. Los adolescentes cambian mucho de opinión sobre con quién quieren ser amigos. En un minuto puedes estar en el grupo “dentro” y al minuto siguiente, puedes ser expulsado del grupo.
La Biblia dice que cualquiera que tenga amigos en los que no se puede confiar pronto llega a la ruina. Pero la buena noticia es que hay un amigo más unido que un hermano. Su nombre es Jesús. Jesús siempre estará ahí para ti. Él nunca te dejará adivinando si está a tu favor o en tu contra, como lo harán algunos de tus amigos. Él nunca te abandonará cuando las cosas se compliquen. Él te ayudará en todas tus pruebas y te dará la fuerza y el coraje para soportarlas. ¿Qué más se le puede pedir a un amigo? No hay amigo como Jesús.
Cuando estés luchando con quiénes de tus amigos son reales, recuerda esta oración: “Señor, por favor ayúdame a descubrir quiénes son mis verdaderos amigos. Gracias porque eres mi verdadero amigo”.
Reliable Friends
“One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
Proverbs 18:24
Do I have reliable friends that I can count on?
Think about your friends. Are they people you can turn to at any time, day or night? Or are they only there for you when it’s convenient for them? It’s important to make sure that you’re in good company with your friends so that you can tell if one of them isn’t good for you to be around. Teenagers change their minds a lot as to who they want to be friends with. One minute you can be in the “in” group, and the next minute, you can be cast out of the group.
The Bible says that anyone with unreliable friends soon comes to ruin. But the good news is that there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. His name is Jesus. Jesus will always be there for you. He will never leave you guessing if He is for you or against you like some of your friends will. He will never abandon you when things get complicated. He will help you through all of your trials and give you the strength and courage to endure them. What more could you ask for in a friend? There is no friend like Jesus.
When you are struggling with real friendships, remember this prayer: “Lord, please help me figure out who my true friends are. Thank you that you’re my truest friend.”
