JESÚS DIJO: “BIENAVENTURADOS los que tienen hambre y sed de justicia, porque ellos serán saciados” (Mateo 5:6). Cuando usted comience a desarrollar hambre por las cosas más profundas de Dios, Él le saciará. Como Job proclamó: “Del mandamiento de sus labios nunca me separé; guardé las palabras de su boca más que mi comida” (Job 23:12).
Debemos alimentarnos diligentemente de la Palabra de Dios. A veces, lo mejor que podemos hacer es dejar con hambre a nuestra carne y alimentar nuestro espíritu mediante un ayuno. El ayuno le ayuda a separar lo que usted quiere de lo que necesita. Le hace enfocarse en las cosas que realmente importan.
Créame: ¡ayunar le proporciona muchas oportunidades para buscar diligentemente al Señor! Usted le busca diligentemente cuando todos los demás van a salir al cine, a beber refrescos y a comer palomitas y usted decide quedarse en casa para estar con el Señor, porque sencillamente tiene que oír de parte de Él. Buscarle diligentemente mediante el ayuno sucede en la mañana cuando todos los demás se levantan y comen huevos, beicon, tortitas, cereales o salchichas y usted decide pasar tiempo con Dios. Se produce cuando está usted en el trabajo y todos los demás almuerzan hamburguesas, patatas fritas y batidos, ¡pero usted solamente bebe agua embotellada! Diligencia es cuando usted llega a casa después de un largo y difícil día en el trabajo, y lo único que ha comido durante todo el día ha sido agua, sin embargo, se aparta de la mesa de la cena para alimentarse de la Palabra.
Ser diligente es ser persistente. Significa trabajar duro para hacer algo y negarse a detenerse. Dios liberó a los israelitas de la esclavitud del faraón. Él dividió el mar Rojo de modo que pudieran cruzar sobre tierra seca, pero permitió que el ejército del faraón se ahogase. Sin embargo, los hijos de Israel salieron al desierto y comenzaron a quejarse. Después de todo lo que Él había hecho por ellos, ellos seguían sin ser diligentes en buscar al Señor, y esa generación más vieja nunca entró en el reposo y la recompensa de Él.
La fe es progresiva. La fe nunca se mete en una mala situación y dice: “Voy a quedarme aquí sentada y morir. Se ha terminado”. La fe nunca se queda en el desierto, lamentándose de sí misma con todo seco a su alrededor. Usted anda por fe; no se queda detenido, ahogándose en su desgracia. Cuando se mete en un desierto, sigue caminando; sigue avanzando incluso si es la única persona que está haciendo algún tipo de progreso con cada paso. Cuando entre en batallas, tiene que seguir diciendo: “Avanzaré”.
Cuando se ofrece una recompensa por la captura de alguien, la recompensa se proporciona antes de que sea reclamada. El dinero se sitúa en una cuenta para que se quede allí hasta que el delincuente sea capturado. Dios es galardonador de los que le buscan con diligencia (Hebreos 11:6), lo cual significa que Él ya tiene recompensas para usted en el cielo. En mi mente, cuando leo este pasaje siempre he añadido: “le buscas a Él . . . y le encuentras a Él”. Eso no es lo que dice. La Biblia nos dice que si buscamos, encontraremos. Hay demasiados cristianos que descubren que están mal nutridos de la Palabra pero bien alimentados del mundo, y viven vidas derrotadas como resultado.
En este día de ayuno, recuerde:
◇Tiene que tener agua a su lado en todo momento.
◇Descanse y relájese todo lo posible.
◇Siga meditando y escuchando.

◇ ¿Cómo puede relacionarse el resistir el hambre enfocándose en el Señor con evitar otras tentaciones en su vida?
Enfoque de oración de este día: Finanzas y prosperidad
DIOS NOS HA dicho mediante su Palabra que cuando le reconozcamos en todos nuestros caminos y no nos apoyemos en nuestro propio entendimiento, Él dirigirá nuestro camino (Proverbios 3:6). Eso incluye las finanzas. En este séptimo día de su ayuno, pida a Dios que corrija las cosas en sus finanzas. Siembre una “ofrenda de primicias”. Si usted siembra en lo inusual, obtendrá una cosecha inusual. ¡Experimente milagros financieros este año! Búsquele a Él para obtener bendiciones y prosperidad que puedan utilizarse para hacer avanzar y extender su Reino y bendecir a otros. Usted se ocupa de las cosas pequeñas, y Dios se ocupará de las cosas grandes. No se preocupe por el dinero; sencillamente haga lo que Dios le indique que haga. Él es el Dios de provisión; Él se ocupará de ello; Él proveerá; Él abrirá un camino. Incluso si está viendo algo que parece mayor que usted mismo, declare con valentía en este momento: “Gracias, Señor, por ser mi proveedor en todas las cosas. ¡Te doy alabanza por la provisión! Gracias, Padre”.

Feed on the Word
JESUS SAID: “BLESSED are those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied” (Matthew 5:6). When you begin to develop a hunger for the deeper things of God, He will satisfy you. As Job proclaimed: “From the commandment of his lips I never parted; I kept the words of his mouth more than my food ”(Job 23:12).
We must diligently feed on the Word of God. Sometimes the best thing we can do is starve our flesh and feed our spirit by fasting. Fasting helps you separate what you want from what you need. It makes you focus on the things that really matter.
Trust me, fasting provides you with many opportunities to diligently seek the Lord! You diligently seek Him when everyone else is going out to the movies, drinking sodas, and eating popcorn and you decide to stay home to be with the Lord, because you simply have to hear from Him. In the morning when everyone else gets up and eats eggs, bacon, pancakes, cereal or sausage and you decide to spend time with God. It occurs when you’re at work and everyone else is having burgers, fries and shakes for lunch, but you only drink bottled water! Diligence is when you come home from a long hard day at work, and all you have eaten all day is water, yet you leave the dinner table to feed on the Word.
To be diligent is to be persistent. It means working hard to do something and refusing to stop. God freed the Israelites from Pharaoh’s slavery. He parted the Red Sea so they could cross on dry land, but allowed Pharaoh’s army to drown. However, the children of Israel went out into the desert and began to complain. After all He had done for them, they were still not diligent in seeking the Lord, and that older generation never entered into His rest and reward.
Faith is progressive. Faith never gets into a bad situation and says, “I’m going to sit here and die. It’s over”. Faith never stays in the desert, lamenting itself with everything dry around it. You walk by faith; do not stand still, drowning in misfortune. When you end up in the desert, keep walking; keep moving forward even if you are the only person making any kind of progress with each step. When you go into battles, you have to keep saying, “I will advance.”
When a bounty is offered for someone’s capture, the bounty is provided before it is claimed. The money is placed in an account to stay there until the offender is caught. God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6), which means He already has rewards for you in heaven. In my mind, when I read this passage I have always added: “you seek Him . . . and you find Him.” That’s not what it says. The Bible tells us that if we seek, we will find. Too many Christians find that they are malnourished on the Word but well fed on the world, and they live defeated lives as a result.
On this day of fasting, remember:
◇You have to have water by your side at all times.
◇Rest and relax as much as possible.
◇Keep meditating and listening.

Prayer Focus for today: Finances and Prosperity
GOD HAS told us through His Word that when we acknowledge Him in all our ways and lean not on our own understanding, He will direct our path (Proverbs 3:6). That includes finances. On this seventh day of your fast, ask God to set things right in your finances. Plant a “firstfruits offering.” If you sow in the unusual, you will reap an unusual harvest. Experience financial miracles this year! Look to Him for blessings and prosperity that can be used to advance and extend His Kingdom and bless others. You take care of the little things, and God will take care of the big things. Don’t worry about money; just do what God tells you to do. He is the God of provision; He will take care of it; He will provide; He will make a way. Even if he is looking at something that seems bigger than yourself, boldly declare in this moment: “Thank you, Lord, for being my provider in all things. I give you praise for provision! Thanks, Dad”.
