El poder de enfoque se puede ver en la luz. La luz difusa brilla en todas las direcciones —como una gran bombilla fluorescente— no hace más que iluminar una habitación. Sin embargo, puedes concentrar la energía de una luz. Con una lupa, los rayos de sol pueden concentrarse para prender la hierba o el papel. Cuando la luz se concentra aún más, como el rayo de un láser, puede traspasar el acero.
Nada es tan poderoso como alguien con una vida enfocada. Los hombres y las mujeres que han impactado grandemente en la historia eran los más centrados. Por ejemplo el apóstol Pablo difundió el cristianismo sin ayuda de nadie por todo el Imperio romano. Su secreto era una vida enfocada. Declaró: «Me concentro en lo que me falta por recorrer» (Filipenses 3.13, TLA).
Si quieres que tu vida tenga poder, concéntrala en el propósito que Dios tiene para ti. Puedes estar ocupado sin un propósito, ¿pero de qué sirve? Limítate a las actividades que más importan.
Oración:
Señor, ayúdame a vivir mi vida teniendo tu enfoque en mente. Quiero ser útil para tu Reino aquí en la tierra.
Day 36 • Laser Sharp
Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. (EPHESIANS 5:17)
The power of focusing can be seen in light. Diffused light that shines in all directions—like a big fluorescent light bulb—doesn’t do anything except light up a room. But you can concentrate the energy of a light. With a magnifying glass, the rays of the sun can be focused to set grass or paper on fire. When light is focused even more, like a laser beam, it can cut through steel.
Nothing is quite as powerful as someone with a focused life. The men and women who have made the greatest difference in history were the most focused. For example, the apostle Paul almost single-handedly spread Christianity throughout the Roman Empire. His secret was a focused life. He said, “I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead” (Philippians 3:13, NLT).
If you want your life to have power, focus it on God’s purpose for you. You can be busy without a purpose, but what’s the point? Do only activities that matter most.
Prayer
Lord, help me live my life with your focus in mind. I want to make a difference for your Kingdom here on Earth.
