Debido a que el mundo eligió las tinieblas sobre la luz, Dios envió a Jesús para traer y ser luz para el mundo.
Ahora estamos llamados a vivir en la luz amando y siguiendo a Jesús.
Pero hay más.
Estamos llamados a ser realmente luz nosotros mismos.
¿Cómo es eso posible? Ya es bastante difícil vivir en la luz conociendo fielmente a Jesús cada día más. ¿Cómo podemos realmente ser luz en un mundo muy oscuro?
La única forma en que podemos ser luz es permanecer tan estrechamente conectados con Jesús que nuestras vidas comiencen a reflejarlo. Así es como funciona la luz, ¿verdad? ¿Por reflexión?
Con Dios, funciona de manera diferente. Su luz proviene de su interior porque eso es lo que él es- la fuente de toda verdad, bondad y amor. No refleja otra cosa. Simplemente es Él mismo.
Cuando Jesús les dice a sus seguidores: “Ustedes son la luz del mundo”, quiere decir: “Tu trabajo es reflejarme a mí y a mi Padre ante otras personas. Al reflejarnos (luz), en esencia estás siendo luz en un mundo oscuro.”
Nosotros mismos no somos la luz. Sería un grave error pensar que ese es el caso. (De hecho, así es como todo salió mal en primer lugar). Pero conocemos la luz, seguimos la luz, amamos la luz, hemos sido salvados por la luz, estamos llenos de la luz, y así podemos reflejar esa luz a todos a nuestro alrededor.
Eso es absolutamente asombroso. Ese es un privilegio que ninguno de nosotros merece. Merecemos oscuridad. En cambio, tenemos a Dios. Así que ve a brillar, reflejándolo a tu alrededor.
Analiza:
¿Estás brillando por la luz de Dios a las personas que te rodean?
Oración:
Mi Señor, es tu luz que nos alcanzo y es reflejo en nuestras vidas, por eso llévanos a los lugares que necesitan de tu luz. Queremos ser instrumentos de tu presencia, en cada lugar que estamos; tu luz, Cristo sea esa guia para que los demás encuentren el verdadero camino hacia la libertad, en el nombre de Jesús. ¡Amén!
Let’s shine!
Because the world chose darkness over light, God sent Jesus to bring and be light to the world.
We are now called to live in the light loving and following Jesus.
But there’s more.
We are called to truly be light ourselves.
How is that possible? It is difficult enough to live in the light knowing Jesus faithfully every day more. How can we really be light in a very dark world?
The only way we can be light is to remain so closely connected to Jesus that our lives begin to reflect Him. That’s how light works, right? By reflection?
With God, it works differently. His light comes from within him because that is what he is—the source of all truth, goodness, and love. It does not reflect anything else. He is simply Himself.
When Jesus says to his followers, “You are the light of the world,” he means, “Your job is to reflect me and my Father to other people. By reflecting us (light), you are essentially being light in a dark world.”
We ourselves are not the light. It would be a grave mistake to think that this is the case. (In fact, that’s how it all went wrong in the first place.) But we know the light, we follow the light, we love the light, we have been saved by the light, we are full of the light, and so we can reflect that light to everyone around us.
That’s absolutely amazing. That’s a privilege none of us deserve. We deserve darkness. Instead, we have God. So go shine, reflecting it around you.

Are you shining by God’s light to the people around you?
Prayer:
My Lord, it is your light that reaches us and is a reflection in our lives, so take us to the places that need your light. We want to be instruments of your presence, in every place we are; your light, Christ be that guide so that others may find the true way to freedom, in the name of Jesus. Amen!
