La palabra alegría quiere decir literalmente brincar de gozo, ¿recuerdas la última vez que algo te emocionó tanto que tuviste que celebrar con un brinco o quizá un grito? Esta definición de alegría significa hacer algo físico al respecto. Cuando inesperadamente llega un ser querido que no ves hace mucho tiempo, la usual expresión a tal asombro es empezar a saltar y gritar de alegría. ¡A esto me refiero con alegría!
Te doy un poco de contexto del pasaje en Habacuc; Israel tuvo diferentes temporadas, y a Habacuc le tocó ministrar en una temporada complicada, donde estaban sujetos a esclavitud, a la opresión de otras naciones, a pobreza. En general, Israel estaba atravesando una temporada muy difícil. Y Habacuc se está quejando con Dios y le dice: “¿hasta cuándo?”.
Algunos también le estamos diciendo a Dios: ¿cuándo van a cambiar mis hijos? ¿cuándo se acabará este problema? ¿cuánto tiempo seguiré soltero? ¿cuánto tiempo voy a seguir en este trabajo? Hay cosas en tu vida que parecen que tardan en llegar y nos hacen sentir frustrados y desanimados. Pero en realidad, ¡llegan justo a tiempo!
Dios nunca llega tarde.
Entonces, vemos que más adelante la respuesta de Habacuc es: “¡aun así me alegraré en el Señor! ¡Me gozaré en el Dios de mi salvación!”. Hoy te animo a alegrarte en Dios de una manera visible y tangible, ¿puedes imaginar externar tu alegría aún en la espera? ¡Qué confianza!
Algunos dicen: “me estoy alegrando en el Señor”, pero siguen con una cara de amargura, que nadie lo creería. No se trata de ser falsos, pero a veces, cuando no lo sientas intenta creerlo hasta que lo sientas.
Alegrarse en Dios es practicar hábitos de fidelidad a Dios. ¿qué son algunos hábitos de fidelidad? Cuando das tu mejor alabanza, lees la Palabra, asistes a tu iglesia aun cuando no tienes ganas, ¡alégrate en el Señor!
Oración
Dios de Gloria, estamos en tiempos difíciles alrededor de todo el mundo donde hay momentos que no vemos la salida y desfallecemos, pero tu Padre, nos has prometido estar cada momento con nosotros y así como Habacuc te creyó y puso la confianza en ti, así nosotros también lo declaramos que nos gozaremos y alegraremos, aunque aún no tengamos la respuesta pero sabemos que tú siempre llegas en el momento preciso para rescatarnos, gracias por tu amor y bondad, en el nombre de Jesús. ¡Amén!
Can you enjoy waiting?
The word joy literally means jumping for joy. Do you remember the last time you got so excited that you had to celebrate with a jump or perhaps a scream? This definition of joy means doing something physical about it. When an unexpected loved one arrives that you haven’t seen for a long time, the usual expression to such amazement is to start jumping and screaming of joy. I am referring to this with joy!
I give you a little context of the passage in Habakkuk; Israel had different seasons, and it was up to Habakkuk to minister in a complicated season, where they were subject to slavery, the oppression of other nations, and poverty. Overall, Israel was going through a very difficult season. And Habakkuk is complaining to God and says, “Until when?”.
Some of us are also saying to God: ‘When will my children change? When will this problem be over? How long will I remain single? How long am I going to continue in this work?’. There are things in your life that seem to take a long time to arrive and make us feel frustrated and discouraged. But in reality, they arrive just in time! God never comes late.
Then, we see that the answer of Habakkuk later is: “I will rejoice in the Lord still! I will enjoy myself in the God of my salvation!” Today I encourage you to rejoice in God in a visible and tangible way, can you imagine outdoing your joy even in waiting? What trust!
Some say, “I am rejoicing in the Lord,” but they are still facing a face of bitterness, which no one would believe. It’s not a question of being false, but sometimes when you don’t feel it, try to believe it until you feel it.
To rejoice in God is to practice habits of faithfulness to God. What are some loyalty habits? When you give your best praise, read the Word, attend your church even if you don’t want, rejoice in the Lord!
Prayer:
God of Glory, we are in difficult times around the world where there are moments that we do not see the way out and we fail, but you Father, You have promised to be with us every moment and just as Habakkuk believed in You and put the trust in You, so we also declare that we will enjoy and rejoice, even if we do not yet have the answer but we know that You always arrive at the right time to rescue us.
