1 Corintios 15:10
Pero por la gracia de Dios soy lo que soy; y su gracia no ha sido en vano para conmigo, antes he trabajado más que todos ellos; pero no yo, sino la gracia de Dios conmigo.
En el Nuevo Testamento, se presentan cinco áreas de nuestra vida donde la gracia del Señor es continuamente necesaria. Esto tiene que ver con inseguridad, debilidad, resistencia, compromiso y orgullo. Consideremos el poder de la gracia obrando en algunas de estas áreas.
La gracia nos ayuda a reclamar quiénes somos para tratar con la inseguridad
Pablo necesita expresar todo lo que él sentía con respecto a quién era entre los demás apóstoles, y comenta que Cristo resucitado, apareció a más de quinientos hermanos a la vez, de los cuales muchos todavía vivían, y otros ya dormían. Después apareció a Jacobo; después a todos los apóstoles; y al último de todos, como a un abortivo, se le apareció a él. Porque se consideraba el más pequeño de los apóstoles, que no era digno de ser llamado apóstol, porque persiguió a la iglesia de Dios. Pero su gracia no ha sido en vano, antes trabajó más que todos ellos; pero no yo, decía Pablo, sino la gracia de Dios con él.
Cuando usted logre comprender que todo lo que hay en su vida es por pura gracia, y que depende absolutamente de ella, el proceso de transformación habrá avanzado. Porque cuando Dios lo llamó no fue por los días de ayuno y oración que usted hizo, ni por las horas de oración que tuvo. Cuando Él se nos apareció éramos como hijos nacidos fuera de término, casi sin vida, sin futuro, con pocas expectativas. No había nada en nosotros que a Él le agradara, pero su gracia en nosotros nos ha hecho ser lo que somos.
Cuando Pablo entendió esto fue libre de la necesidad de compararse con otros, porque comprendió que a Pedro le había dado una gracia y a él, otra. Por eso, usted no puede compararse con la gracia que otro ha recibido, porque no solamente está subestimando la gracia que se le dio a usted sino que además está envidiando la gracia que se le dio al otro. Usted tiene lo que tiene, es lo que es, hace lo que hace, por pura gracia del Señor. La gracia consoló a Pablo cuando estaba solo, cuando no creía que era digno de llamarse apóstol. La gracia le dio fortaleza suficiente para llamarse apóstol. La gracia lo perdonó y le devolvió su identidad. La habilidad sobrenatural de Dios que hay en usted hace que haga lo que hace, y que sea quién usted es.
Reciba una inyección de gracia. Si usted creía que todo había terminado, Dios le dice: «Apenas estoy comenzando contigo. Estoy iniciando una transformación y restauración gloriosa». Dios quiere hacer algo en su vida que va a exceder su capacidad humana, y lo va a ayudar a entender la gracia que Él tiene para con usted. Reconozca su humanidad al igual que el apóstol lo hizo, pero igual que él, llevela sujeta a la gracia de Dios para que Su poder se perfeccione a través de usted.
Oración:
Padre Celestial, es el poder de tu gracia que ha sido derramada en nuestros corazones para poder caminar seguros, fuertes, perseverantes, comprometidos contigo en humildad; es por tu gracia que aun estamos de pie y podemos alcanzar lo inalcanzable, queremos más de tu gracia divina para poder llevar acabo los planes maravillosos que has colocado en cada uno de nosotros, haciéndolo en amor para gloria y honra de tu nombre; en el nombre de Jesús. ¡Amén!
Only by His grace
1 Corinthians 15:10
But by the grace of God I am what I am; and His grace has not been in vain to me, before I have worked more than all of them; but not me, but the grace of God with me.
In the New Testament, five areas of our life are presented where the grace of the Lord is continually needed. This has to do with insecurity, weakness, resistance, commitment and pride. Consider the power of grace working in some of these areas.
Grace helps us reclaim who we are, to deal with insecurity.
Paul needed to express all he felt about who he was among the other apostles, and says that the Risen Christ appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once. Many of whom still lived, and others already slept. Then he appeared to James; then to all the apostles; and to the last of all, like an aborted child, he appeared to Him. For he considered himself the smallest of the apostles, who was not worthy of being called an apostle, because he persecuted the church of God. But his grace has not been in vain, before he worked more than all of them; but not I, Paul said, but God’s grace with him.
When you realize that everything in your life is by pure grace, and that it is absolutely dependent on it, the process of transformation will have advanced. Because when God called him it was not for the days of fasting and prayer you did, nor for the hours of prayer you had. When he appeared to us we were like children born out of term, almost without life, without future, with few expectations. There was nothing in us to please Him, but His grace in us has made us what we are.
When Paul understood this he was free from the need to compare himself with others, because he realized that Peter had given him one grace and him another. Therefore, you cannot compare yourself with the grace that another has received, because you are not only underestimating the grace that was given to you, but you are also envious of the grace that was given to the other. You have what you have, it is what you are, you do what you do, by the pure grace of the Lord. Grace consoled Paul when he was alone, when he did not believe he was worthy to call himself an apostle. Grace gave him enough strength to call himself an apostle. Grace forgave him and restored his identity. God’s supernatural ability in you makes him do what he does, and who you are.
Receive an insertion of grace. If you believed everything was over, God says, “I’m just starting with you. I am beginning a glorious transformation and restoration.” God wants to do something in your life that will exceed your human capacity, and will help you understand the grace He has for you. Recognize your humanity just as the apostle did, but like him, bring it subject to the grace of God so that His power may be perfected through you.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, it is the power of your grace that has been poured out into our hearts to be able to walk safe, strong, persevering, committed to you in humility; It is by your grace that we are still standing and we can reach the unattainable, we want more of your divine grace to be able to carry out the wonderful plans you have placed in each of us, doing so in love for the glory and honor of your name; in the name of Jesus. Amen!
