Salmos 37:4
Deléitate en el Señor, y él te concederá los deseos de tu corazón.
Un día Jesús salía de Jericó y una gran multitud comenzó a seguirlo. En medio de la conmoción, dos ciegos estaban sentados junto al camino. “¡Señor, Hijo de David, ten piedad de nosotros!”, gritaron. La multitud les reprendió y les mandó a callar, pero ellos alzaron aún más la voz. “¡Señor, Hijo de David, ten piedad de nosotros!” Jesús se detuvo y los llamó. “¿Qué queréis que haga por vosotros?”, les preguntó. Los hombres respondieron: “Señor, queremos la vista”.
Por lo general, cuando leemos una historia así, nos llama la atención sobre todo el resultado: no es poca cosa que al final Jesús les diera la vista a los dos ciegos. Así que, lo que hizo Jesús a menudo se pasa por alto.
Cuando Jesús les pregunta: “¿Qué queréis que haga por vosotros?”, no era porque no lo supiera, sino que necesitaba que declararan lo que querían que Dios hiciera en su favor.
Los Salmos nos dicen que debemos deleitarnos en el Señor y Él nos dará los deseos de nuestro corazón. Esto significa que necesitamos conocer nuestros corazones, nuestros deseos, y debemos informar a Dios que es lo que anhelamos, aunque Él ya los sepa, y por consiguiente luego esos deseos de nuestro corazón sean transformados por nuestro amor y adoración a Él.
Si no sabes lo que quieres, es inútil que Dios pueda darte algo. Si conoces al Padre, conocerás su voluntad y sabrás que pedirle. Hay momentos en la vida en los que no está dentro del alcance de la intención de Dios para nuestra vida, el darnos ciertas cosas que pedimos. Pero, ¿no preferirías equivocarte pidiendo demasiado antes que poco?
¿Qué quieres de Dios? ¿Habitualmente te lo preguntas? ¿Hay algo que quieres pero tienes miedo de pedir?
Oración:
¡Amado Dios! Tu eres nuestro buen Padre lleno de amor y de misericordia; conoces los deseos de nuestro corazón, pero te deleitas que como hijos te busquemos, presentando cada anhelo y deseo nuestro. Se haga conforme a tu voluntad, al debido tiempo, gracias por que tus promesas se cumplen, en el nombre de Jesús, ¡Amén!
Delight in God
Psalm 37:4
Delight in the Lord, and He will grant you the desires of your heart.
One day Jesus came out of Jericho and a great crowd began to follow him. In the midst of the shock, two blind men were sitting by the way. ” Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” they shouted. The crowd rebuked them and sent them to silence, but they raised their voice even more. ” Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” Jesus stopped and called them. ” What do you want me to do for you?” he asked them. The men answered, “Lord, we want the sight.”
Generally, when we read such a story, we draw attention to the whole result: It is not a small act that Jesus ultimately gave sight to the two blind. So what Jesus did is often overlooked.
When Jesus asks them, ” What do you want me to do for you?”, it was not because HE did not know it, but He needed them to declare what they wanted God to do for their favor.
The Psalms tell us that we must delight in the Lord and He will give us the desires of our hearts. This means that we need to know our hearts, our desires, and we must inform God what we crave, even though He already knows them, and then those desires of our hearts are transformed by our love and worship of Him.
If you don’t know what you want, it’s useless for God to give you something. If you know the Father, you will know His will and know what to ask Him. There are times in life where it is not within the reach of God’s intention for our life, to give us certain things we ask for, but wouldn’t you prefer to go wrong by asking too much sooner rather than asking too little?
What do you want from God? Do you usually ask? Is there something you want but are you afraid to ask?
Prayer:
Beloved God! You are our good Father full of love and mercy; you know the desires of our heart, but you delight that as children we seek you, presenting every longing and desire of our own. Be done according to your will, in due time, thank you for your promises being fulfilled, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
