1 Corintios 13:8
El amor nunca deja de ser; pero las profecías se acabarán, y cesarán las lenguas, y la ciencia acabará.
La Biblia asegura que el amor es una decisión, escogemos amar, y escogemos no amar. La invitación de Dios a través de las escrituras es a vivir una vida de amor como si toda nuestra vida dependiera de ello, por tanto, el amor es una decisión en acción.
Una característica del amor es la bondad. Tal vez te preguntes ¿y qué es la bondad? La bondad en términos bíblicos es el amor en acción. Jesús compartió con sus seguidores una parábola para ilustrar esta verdad. Les contó la historia de tres hombres que viajaban de Jerusalén a Jericó por un camino conocido popularmente por ser ruta de asaltantes y ladrones.
En el trayecto los tres hombres, en momentos diferentes se encontraron a un hombre medio muerto, tirado en el camino, visiblemente maltratado y herido por causa del pillaje de delincuentes. Jesús dijo que cada uno de estos hombres respondió de forma diferente frente a tan sorpresivo encuentro. El primero mantuvo su distancia y siguió su camino como si la “la cosa no fuera con él”. El segundo, se detuvo, tuvo curiosidad y observó al moribundo, pero al final no se involucró y siguió de largo. El tercer hombre, al ver al herido, se compadeció de él y fue bondadoso hasta el punto que se encargó de su recuperación.
De alguna forma Jesús nos dice a través de esta parábola que estos tres hombres representan nuestras tres opciones o formas de ver y vivir la vida.

Rey bueno, necesitamos tener un corazón lleno de bondad, el decidir siempre hacer lo bueno a los demás, sin importar quien sea, danos la gracia para tener misericordia y amar aun si sean nuestros enemigos, ayúdanos a pagar bien a aquellos que nos hacen mal y poder reflejar de tu amor aun pueblo que camina en tinieblas, dependemos de ti mi Señor en el nombre de Jesús, ¡Amén!
Love is a decision
1 Corinthians 13:8
Love never stops being; but prophecies will end, and tongues will cease, and science will end.
The Bible assures that love is a decision, we choose to love, and we choose not to love. God’s invitation through the scriptures is to live a life of love as if our whole life depended on it, therefore, love is a decision in action.
One characteristic of love is kindness. You may be wondering, what is kindness? Kindness in biblical terms is love in action. Jesus shared with his followers a parable to illustrate this truth. He told them the story of three men traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho along a road popularly known as the route of robbers and robbers.
Along the way, the three men, at different times, found a half-dead man lying on the road, visibly mistreated and wounded due to looting by criminals. Jesus said that each of these men responded differently to such a surprising encounter. The first kept his distance from him and continued on his way as if the “thing was not with him”. The second, he stopped, was curious and looked at the dying man, but in the end he did not get involved and continued on. The third man, seeing the wounded man, took pity on him and was kind to the point that he took care of his recovery.
Somehow Jesus tells us through this parable that these three men represent our three options or ways of seeing and living life.

Good King, we need to have a heart full of kindness, to always decide to do good to others, no matter who they are, give us the grace to have mercy and love even if they are our enemies, help us pay well to those who do us harm and to be able to reflect your love to a people that walks in darkness, we depend on you my Lord in the name of Jesus, Amen!
