2. La Fe de Marta ( Juan 11: 1-44)
Hubo un episodio muy triste en la vida de Marta. Su hermano Lázaro estaba enfermo y ella envía a buscar a Jesús, para que viniera a sanarlo, ya que Jesús estaba en otra ciudad. Jesús en vez de ir, se quedó dos días más. Pues Jesús sabia que la enfermedad de su amigo, no era para muerte si no para manifestar la gloria de Dios,(v.4) . Cuando Marta oyó que Jesús regresaba salió a su encuentro, le dijo (v.21) “ Señor, si hubieras estado aquí, mi hermano no hubiera muerto”. Marta al parecer regaña al Senor. Pero a la vez, vemos la fe de Marta al decirle a Jesús “Mas también se ahora que todo lo que pidas a Dios, Dios te lo dará (v.22). Vemos como Marta muestra su total confianza y fe en el poder de Jesús . Pero sigue su conversación con el. (v.23-27).
El Señor le declara que su hermano resucitará , y ella lo toma como una promesa futura (v.24) no en el presente, pero le dice “yo se”. Es en esta conversación, ella recibe una de las promesas más hermosas de la Biblia “Yo soy la resurrección y la vida; el que cree en mi, aunque este muerto vivirá ” (v.25). Cuanto consuelo han traido estas palabras a tantas personas cuando han perdido a algun ser querido.
¿ Qué quiere decir este versiculo? Que Jesús mismo es la vida, de el procede todo, El es el único que pueda dar vida eterna a todos los que se acercan a el por medio de la fe. El es la resurrección , la muerte no pudo con Él , se levantó de los muertos y así un día también nosotros lo haremos; en un abrir y cerrar de ojos. Nuestros cuerpos se levantarán de las tumbas y se unirán a nuestras almas para toda la eternidad. Vemos como Jesús le pregunta directamente a Marta ¿Crees esto? Y ella confiesa con su boca y con su corazón (v.27) “Si Señor; yo he creído que Tú eres el Cristo, el Hijo de Dios, que has venido al mundo”
Déjame que te haga la misma pregunta ¿Crees esto? Tu respuesta a esta pregunta dependerá de si has aceptado a Cristo como tu Señor y Salvador en tu vida. ¿Quieres tener vida eterna? Pues cree en El, arrepiéntete y acepta la obra de Cristo en la cruz en tu lugar.
Después ya sabemos todas lo que ocurrió, Jesús manifestó su poder y gloria resucitando a Lázaro de los muertos, después de estar cuatro dias muerto (v.43-44)
3. Un banquete para Jesús ( Juan 2:1-2)
El siguiente pasaje que vemos es el tercer y último donde se menciona a Marta. Se nos dice que es seis días antes de la pascua, o sea, seis días antes de la crucifixión de Jesús. El Señor Jesús no vuelve a su casa con su madre y hermanos a descanzar, sino que siempre está en casa de Marta, Maria y Lázaro. Allí es donde el encuentra reposo, sosiego, comunión. Allí es recibido y querido. Eso nos dice mucho del hogar de Marta, sería tan acogedor que el Señor lo eligió para descansar de mucho trabajo, y pasar unos días antes de su propia muerte.
Aprendamos a que nuestro hogar sen un lugar de paz, armonía, calma, amor, donde todos quieran ir a desahogarse, a descansar de sus cargas, a tener un momento de paz y tranquilidad, sin conflictos, sin odios, sin chismes, que sea uno lugar donde se respire la presencia del Espíritu Santo.
En el versículo 2, vemos a Marta sirviendo de nuevo, pero hay otra actitud en ella, ya no se queja contra su hermana, se respira paz y tranquilidad.
REFLEXIÓN
Estas sirviendo en tu iglesia, trabajo, casa..etc pero estas mirando que hacen los demás? Es realmente de corazón lo qué haces, o solo por cumplir.? Esperas reconocimiento.? Si contestastes SI, es hora de cambiar nuestra actitud, asi como lo hizo Marta, colocando siempre nuestra mirada en Jesús.
Oración
Padre te damos gracias por tu amor que es inagotable, por tu favor y gracia, que podamos ser esas mujeres valientes, abnegadas, esforzadas, amorosas, sabias y de buena actitud que te honren y glorifiquen en todo. Gracias Señor Jesús ver siempre lo mejor de nosotras. En el nombre que es sobre todo nombre, en el nombre de Jesús. Amén!
Martha – Second Part
2. The Faith of Martha (John 11: 1-44)
There was a very sad episode in Martha’s life. Her brother Lazarus hers was sick and she sent for Jesus to come and heal him, since Jesus was in another city. Instead of going, Jesus stayed two more days. Well, Jesus knew that the illness of his friend was not for death but rather to manifest the glory of God (v.4). When Martha heard that Jesus was returning she went out to meet her, she told him (v.21) “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” Martha apparently scolds the Lord. But at the same time, we see Martha’s faith when she said to Jesus “But I also know now that whatever you ask God for, God will give you (v.22). We see how Martha shows her total trust and faith in the power of Jesus. But she continues her conversation with him. (v.23-27).
The Lord declares that her brother will rise again, and she takes it as a future promise (v.24) not in the present, but says “I know”. It is in this conversation, she receives one of the most beautiful promises in the Bible “I am the resurrection and the life; He who believes in me, even though he is dead, will live ”(v.25). How much comfort these words have brought so many people when they have lost a loved one.
What does this verse mean? That Jesus himself is life, from him everything comes, he is the only one who can give eternal life to all who come to him through faith. He is the resurrection, death could not with him, he rose from the dead and so one day we will do it too; In a blink of an eye. Our bodies will rise from the graves and join our souls for all eternity. We see how Jesus asks Martha directly, Do you believe this? And she confesses with her mouth and her heart (v.27) “Yes Lord; I have believed that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who has come into the world “
Let me ask you the same question. Do you believe this? Your answer to this question will depend on whether you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior in your life. Do you want to have eternal life? For believe in Him, repent and accept the work of Christ on the cross in your place.
After we all know what happened, Jesus manifested the power and glory of him by raising Lazarus from the dead, after being four days dead (v. 43-44)
3. A banquet for Jesus (John 2: 1-2)
The next passage we see is the third and last where Martha is mentioned. We are told that it is six days before Passover, that is, six days before the crucifixion of Jesus. The Lord Jesus does not return to his house with his mother and his brothers to rest, but he is always at the house of Marta, Maria and Lázaro. That is where he finds rest, calm, communion. There he is welcomed and loved. That tells us a lot about Marta’s home, it would be so welcoming that the Lord chose it to rest from a lot of work, and spend a few days before his own death.
Let us learn that our home feels a place of peace, harmony, calm, love, where everyone wants to go and let off steam, to rest from their burdens, to have a moment of peace and tranquility, without conflicts, without hatred, without gossip, whatever a place where the presence of the Holy Spirit is breathed.
In verse 2, we see Marta serving again, but there is another attitude in her, she no longer complains against her sister, she breathes peace and tranquility.
REFLECTION
You are serving in your church, work, home … etc but are you looking at what others do? Is it really from the heart what you do, or just to comply? You expect recognition.? If you answered YES, it is time to change our attitude, just as Marta did, always placing our gaze on Jesus.

Father we thank you for your love that is inexhaustible, for your favor and grace, that we can be those brave, self-sacrificing, hard-working, loving, wise and good-minded women who honor and glorify you in everything. Thank you Lord Jesus to always see the best of us. In the name that is above all names, in the name of Jesus. Amen!
