Mujer incrédula y de poca fe.
Génesis capitulo 15: Dios promete a Abram un hijo que le heredaría y multiplicaría su descendencia.
Génesis capitulo 16: Sara no creyó en la promesa porque era de avanzada edad y le dijo a Abram: Ya ves que Dios nos ha hecho estéril ; te ruego pues que te llegues a mi sierva; quizá tendré hijos de ella. Y atendió Abram el ruego de Sarai. (Génesis 16:2)
Sara le dió a su criada Agar a su marido para que por medio de ella se realizara lo que Dios le había dicho y así sería la descendencia que según Sara, el Señor les daría. Sara quiso ayudar a Dios con su aptitud y por consiguiente lo único que logró fue dañar el plan de Dios. No era con la sierva que iba a bendecirlos, sino con Sara. Con todo esto lo único que logró fue crear dos generaciones que estarían divididas, las cuales están en conflicto hasta el día de hoy.
Sara era una mujer Hermosa como para atraer algunos gobernantes del mundo, podía ser de carácter fuerte y también celosa, sin embargo se le consideró una mujer leal que hizo lo correcto y no se entregó al miedo.
Su mayor dolor fue el haber permanecido sin hijos durante la mayor parte de su vida.
Su mayor gozo fue haber dado a luz a Isaac, el hijo de la promesa, a la edad de noventa años.
.Sara y Abram recibieron la promesa de su hijo a edad avanzada, pero pasaron varios años y no tenían ese anhelado hijo. Así que Sara decidió meter mano en el as unto. Imitando una costumbre común en el mundo antiguo, le dió permiso a Abram para que durmiera con Agar, su esclava egipcia. La esclava de Sara se convertiría en la madre sustituta del hijo prometido.
Al poco tiempo nació Ismael, pero el niño solo produjo discordia entre las dos mujeres.
Un día, varios años después, el Señor, se le apareció a Abram mientras estaba sentado en la entrada de su tienda.
– Donde está Sara, tu esposa?
– – Allí en la carpa – respondió Abram.
Entonces el Señor le dijo:
– Dentro de un año volveré a verte, y para entonces tu esposa Sara tendrá un hijo.
Sara que habia estado escuchando secretamente adentro de la tienda, se rió y dijo:
– Acaso voy a tener este placer, ahora que ya estoy consumida y mi esposo es tan Viejo?
Pero el Señor le dijo a Abram:
– Por qué se ríe Sara? No cree que podrá tener un hijo en su vejez? Acaso hay algo imposible para el Señor? El año que viene volveré a visitarte en esta fecha. Y para entonces Sara habrá tenido un hijo.
Sara tuvo miedo, y mintió al decirle:
– Yo no me estaba riendo.
Pero el Señor le replicó:
– Si te reíste.
Un año después Sara dio a luz a Isaac.
Si miráramos como mujer el acto de Sara, pensaríamos que difícil fue para ella recordar las promesas de Dios y esperar que El las cumpliera.
Las promesas de Dios nos son reveladas y cumplidas en el tiempo de El, que normalmente obedece a un calendario muy diferente al nuestro.
Esperó pacientemente a que Dios obre puede resultar una de las experiencias mas difíciles de nuestro andar cristiano. Vivimos en la época de la inmediatez. Creemos que esperar en quietud es de alguna manera menos valiosa y hasta un poco perezoso. Somos las reinas del HAZLO POR TI MISMA, pero muchas veces interferimos con Dios cuando tomamos las cosas en nuestras manos.
Acaso, estas esperando que Dios haga algo por ti?
Le has pedido por un esposo y no ha llegado?
Pides por un hijo?
Le has pedido la salvación de tu esposo?
O estas orando para que un hijo rebelde regrese a casa?
Cualesquiera que sean las circunstancias, el tiempo de Dios es más oportuno. Recuerda que Dios tiene su propia agenda, y descansa en la seguridad de que El te ama y cumplirá las promesas que te hizo.
Oración:
Padre amado gracias por amarme tanto a pesar de que mi alma todavía contiene sombras que en ocasiones bloquean la luz de tu espíritu. Te pido que cada día fortalezcas mas mi fe en ti y no en las promesas que me has dado. Que aprenda a esperar en tus tiempos y no en los míos, y que sobre todo, no haga cosas para ayudarte, que mañana mas tarde pueda arrepentirme. Te lo pido en el nombre de Jesús. Amén.

Incredulous woman of little faith.
Genesis chapter 15: God promises Abraham a son who would inherit him and multiply his descendants.
Genesis chapter 16: Sarah did not believe in his promise because she was of advanced age and she said to Abraham: You see that God has made us sterile; I beg you then to come to my servant; maybe I’ll have children from her. And Abraham heeded Sarai’s request. (Genesis 16: 2)
Sarah gave her maid Hagar to her husband so that through her what God had told her would be realized and that is how the offspring that according to Sarah, the Lord would give them, would be. Sarah wanted to help God with her aptitude and therefore the only thing she accomplished was to damage God’s plan. It was not with the servant that he was going to bless them, but with Sarah. With all this, the only thing she managed was to create two generations that would be divided, which are in conflict to this day.
Sara was a beautiful woman to attract some rulers of the world, she could be strong and jealous, however she was considered a loyal woman who did the right thing and did not give in to fear.
Her biggest pain was being childless for most of her life.
Her greatest joy was having given birth to Isaac, the son of promise, at the age of ninety.
Sara and Abraham received the promise of her son at an advanced age, but several years passed and they did not have that longed-for son. So Sara decided to get involved. Imitating a common custom in the ancient world, she gave Abraham permission to sleep with Hagar, her Egyptian slave. Sara’s slave would become the surrogate mother for her promised son.
Ishmael was born shortly after, but the child only produced discord between the two women.
One day several years later, the Lord appeared to Abraham while he was sitting in the doorway of his tent.
– Where is Sara, your wife?
– – There in the tent – Abraham answered.
Then the Lord said to him:
– In a year I will see you again, and by then your wife Sara will have a child.
Sara who had been eavesdropping inside the store, laughed and said:
– Am I going to have this pleasure, now that I am consumed and my husband is so old?
But the Lord said to Abraham:
– Why is Sara laughing? She doesn’t think she will be able to have a child in her old age? Is there something impossible for the Lord? Next year she comes I will visit you again on this date. And by then Sara will have had a child.
Sara was afraid, and she lied when she told him:
– I wasn’t laughing.
But the Lord replied:
– Yes you laughed.
A year later Sarah gave birth to Isaac.
If we looked at Sarah’s act as a woman, we would think how difficult it was for her to remember God’s promises and expect Him to fulfill them.
God’s promises are revealed to us and fulfilled in His time, which normally follows a very different calendar than ours.
Waiting patiently for God to work can be one of the most difficult experiences of our Christian walk. We live in the age of immediacy. We believe that waiting quietly is somehow less valuable and even a little lazy. We are the queens of the DO IT YOURSELF, but many times we interfere with God when we take things into our own hands.
Are you waiting for God to do something for you?
Have you asked for a husband and he has not arrived?
Do you ask for a son?
Have you asked for your husband’s salvation?
Or are you praying for a wayward child to come home?
Whatever the circumstances, God’s timing is more opportune. Remember that God has His own agenda, and rest in the assurance that He loves you and will fulfill the promises He made to you.
Prayer:
Dear Father, thank you for loving me so much even though my soul still contains shadows that sometimes block the light of your spirit. I ask you to strengthen my faith in you every day and not in the promises you have given me. That he learns to wait in your time and not in mine, and above all, not do things to help you, that tomorrow later I may regret it. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
