Santiago 4:8
Acérquense a Dios, y él se acercará a ustedes. ¡Pecadores, límpiense las manos! ¡Ustedes los inconstantes, purifiquen su corazón!
¡Nuestro Dios está vivo!, y desde la creación del mundo, Él tiene un arduo deseo en su corazón y es que Él quiere habitar en nuestro corazón. Mas para que Él permanezca en nosotros es importante que tengamos un cambio de actitud, un corazón limpio y puro:
– 1 Juan 3:3
Y todo aquel que tiene esta esperanza en Él, se purifica a sí mismo, así como él es puro.
Dios no puede habitar en el corazón de quien se complace en la mentira o vive en pecado. Por eso, es necesario que nos apartemos de
las prácticas pecaminosas y que nos dediquemos en fe. El reino de Dios lo alcanzan los que se esfuerzan y se aferran a él:
– Mateo 11:12
Desde los días de Juan el Bautista hasta ahora, el reino de los cielos sufre violencia, y los violentos lo arrebatan.
Y este el primer e importante paso: ¡Es la limpieza de nuestro corazón!
El apóstol Santiago nos muestra la importancia de purificar nuestro corazón para acercarnos al Padre. Primero, Santiago dice a los pecadores que deben limpiar sus manos. Esto nos indica que necesitamos revisar nuestras acciones. Debemos volver nuestras manos hacia la práctica de las buenas obras, nuestras actitudes deben ser coherentes con lo que creemos.
Otro punto a destacar es la importancia de purificar nuestros corazones. Purificar el corazón es tener la Fe firme en Cristo. Cuando meditamos leemos y oímos la Palabra de Dios todas las impurezas de la duda se van. Al fortalecer nuestra fe, nuestro corazón se enfoca solo en Cristo, ya no hay más espacio para una mente dividida.
Ese cambio de actitud propuesto por Santiago trae buen resultado: nos acercamos a Dios y él se acerca a nosotros. Él nos ama y quiere estar con nosotros, pero es necesario que suceda ese cambio de actitud para que seamos llenos de su poder.
Acérquense a Dios, y él se acercará a ustedes:
Examínate a ti mismo, analiza tu testimonio. Identifica las áreas en las que puedes cambiar de actitud.
Busca al Señor en oración. Pide perdón a Dios por las actitudes que no vienen de él.
Lee la Biblia. Esta es la mejor manera de fortalecer tu fe y de purificar tu corazón.
Oración:
Señor, quiero acercarme más a ti. Moldea mi corazón, aparta las dudas de mi mente. Quiero andar en tus caminos y ser transformado. Te entrego mi corazón. Lléname con tu poder y favor. En el nombre de Jesús, amén.
Getting Closer to God
James 4: 8
Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you. Sinners, clean your hands! You the unstable, purify your heart!
Our God is alive! And since the creation of the world, He has an burning desire in his heart and it’s because He wants to dwell in our hearts. But for Him to remain in us, it is important that we have a change of attitude, a clean and pure heart:
– 1 John 3: 3
And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as he is pure.
God cannot dwell in the heart of someone who takes pleasure in lying or lives in sin. Therefore, it is necessary for us to turn away
from sinful practices and to dedicate ourselves in faith. The kingdom of God is attained by those who strive and cling to it:
– Matthew 11:12
From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
And this is the first and important step: It is the cleansing of our heart!
The apostle James shows us the importance of purifying our hearts to draw closer to the Father. First, James tells sinners that they must clean their hands. This tells us that we need to review our actions. We must turn our hands towards the practice of good works, our attitudes must be consistent with what we believe.
Another highlight is the importance of purifying our hearts. To purify the heart is to have firm Faith in Christ. When we meditate we read and hear the Word of God all the impurities of doubt go away. As we strengthen our faith, our heart focuses only on Christ, there is no more room for a divided mind.
This change of attitude proposed by James brings good results: we get closer to God and he draws closer to us. He loves us and wants to be with us, but that change in attitude needs to happen for us to be filled with his power.
Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you:
Examine yourself, analyze your testimony. Identify areas where you can change your
attitude.
Seek the Lord in prayer. Ask God for forgiveness for the attitudes that do not come from him.
Read the Bible. This is the best way to strengthen your faith and to purify your heart.
Prayer:
Lord, I want to get closer to you. Shape my heart, remove doubts from my mind. I want to walk in your ways and be transformed. I give you my heart. Fill me with your power and favor. In the name of Jesus, amen.
