Hebreos 12:14
Busquen la paz con todos, y la santidad, sin la cual nadie verá al Señor.
Puede parecer que no, pero tenemos que admitir que vivir en paz con todos requiere mucho esfuerzo personal. Para lograrlo necesitamos tener templanza, benignidad, bondad, mansedumbre, dominio propio, cualidades del fruto del Espíritu (QUE REALMENTE ES EL AMOR, EL VÍNCULO PERFECTO) que solo desarrollamos cuando vivimos en comunión con Dios.
Dios nunca nos escondió que su Reino es tomado con esfuerzo:
– Mateo 11:12
Pues ¿cuánto más vale un hombre que una oveja? Por consiguiente, es lícito hacer el bien en los días de reposo.
Y que para encontrarlo debemos buscarlo
– Mateo 6:33
Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.
Mientras buscamos las cosas de lo alto, como consecuencia, el fruto del Espíritu es visible en nuestra vida. Vivir en paz con los hermanos es vivir en paz con Dios, con un corazón libre de resentimiento y del deseo de venganza.
Vivir en paz es un esfuerzo que vale la pena, pues ante todo, nosotros somos los primeros en salir beneficiados al actuar así. Toda actitud pacífica genera buenos frutos y da buen testimonio. Ese tipo de postura también forma parte del anunciar las buenas nuevas del Señor. De nada vale que hablemos de la paz que sobrepasa a todo entendimiento si vivimos con una conducta agresiva reaccionando ante cualquier situación.
Cuando Jesús habló de las “bienaventuranzas”, ellas eran parte de un corazón pacífico y todas son reflejo de santidad en el Señor. Frente a tantas bendiciones y promesas, vivir en paz y obediencia es un esfuerzo que vale la pena seguir. ¡Seamos obedientes!
Ejercita la obediencia y busca la santidad:
La mejor forma de comenzar a ser obedientes es meditando en la Palabra de Dios. En ella tenemos toda la orientación y toda fuente necesaria para alimentar nuestro espíritu.
La oración es nuestra fe en acción, es el momento en el que actuamos en fe, unidos en la comunión con el Espíritu Santo. Dios oye la oración de sus hijos y quiere escuchar nuestra voz.
Oración:
Señor Dios, derrama sobre mí tu Espíritu. Que tu mover en mi vida pueda reflejar tu amor y que mis hechos reflejen que estás obrando en mí. Que tu paz pueda derramarse sobre mí para alcanzar a los que están a mi alrededor. En el nombre de Jesús, amén.
Living in peace requires effort
Hebrews 12:14
Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
It may not seem like it, but we have to admit that living in peace with everyone takes a lot of personal effort. To achieve this we need to have temperance, kindness, goodness, meekness, self-control, qualities of the fruit of the Spirit (WHICH REALLY IS LOVE, THE PERFECT LINK) that we only develop when we live in communion with God.
God never hid from us that His Kingdom is taken with effort:
– Matthew 11:12
From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it.
And that to find him we must look for him
– Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
As we seek things from on high, as a consequence, the fruit of the Spirit is visible in our lives. To live in peace with our brothers and sisters is to live in peace with God, with a heart free from resentment and a desire for vengeance.
Living in peace is a worthwhile effort, for first and foremost we are the first to benefit from doing so. Every peaceful attitude bears good fruit and bears good witness. This kind of stance is also part of announcing the Good News of the Lord. There is no point in talking about peace that surpasses all understanding if we live with aggressive behavior reacting to any situation.
When Jesus spoke of the “beatitudes”, they were part of a peaceful heart and all are reflections of holiness in the Lord. In the face of so many blessings and promises, living in peace and obedience is an effort worth following. Let’s be obedient!
Exercise obedience and seek holiness:
The best way to begin to be obedient is by meditating on the Word of God. In it we have all the guidance and every source necessary to nourish our spirit.
Prayer is our faith in action, it is the moment when we act in faith, united in communion with the Holy Spirit. God hears the prayer of
his children and wants to hear our voice.
Prayer:
Lord God, pour out your Spirit upon me. May your move in my life reflect your love and that my deeds reflect that you are working in me. May your peace be poured out upon me to reach those around me. In the name of Jesus, amen.
