Genesis 22:7-8
Entonces habló Isaac a Abraham su padre, y dijo: Padre mío. Y él respondió: Heme aquí, mi hijo. Y él dijo: He aquí el fuego y la leña; mas ¿dónde está el cordero para el holocausto?
Y respondió Abraham: Dios se proveerá de cordero para el holocausto, hijo mío. E iban juntos.
Estos versículos narran un momento de gran prueba que Abraham pasó con su hijo, Isaac. Es la historia tan conocida en la que Dios puso a prueba la fe del patriarca al pedirle que le diera su hijo amado. Con certeza fue un test sin igual, pero apenas una prueba, pues Dios no quería que Isaac muriera. Abraham mostró que tenía fe en Dios al obedecerle en todo. Él sabía que el Señor que le había concedido el hijo prometido es fiel y que, de ser necesario, él lo resucitaría o proveería el cordero para el sacrificio. Y así fue: ¡Dios proveyó! Por eso puedes tener la certeza de que también proveerá toda necesidad en tu vida.
– Filipenses 4:19
Mi Dios, pues, suplirá todo lo que os falta conforme a sus riquezas en gloria en Cristo Jesús.
Al igual que en esta historia, a veces nuestra fe es puesta a prueba. Aunque no entendamos las circunstancias necesitamos confiar en el Señor pues a través de las luchas que enfrentamos aprendemos a depender más de él. Tener empleo, un tratamiento de salud, recursos materiales, qué vestir, etc… todas son necesidades importantes. Pero debemos buscar primero el reino de Dios y su justicia.
– Mateo 6:31-33
No os afanéis, pues, diciendo: ¿Qué comeremos, o qué beberemos, o qué vestiremos?
Porque los gentiles buscan todas estas cosas; pero vuestro Padre celestial sabe que tenéis necesidad de todas estas cosas.
Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.
Apoya tu fe totalmente en el Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Jacob porque él suplirá a todas tus necesidades para su alabanza y gloria.
Por fe Dios proveerá:
• Confía plenamente en Dios. Él es fiel y cumple su Palabra.
• Ora y pon toda tu vida bajo el cuidado del Señor.
Dios proveerá lo que necesitas. Pero recuerda que a veces puede que no sea compatible con lo que deseas que él haga.
Descansa en la provisión de Dios, pero trabaja y aprovecha las oportunidades que él trae a tu vida.
Busca orientación constante en la Palabra de Dios. Él provee la sabiduría necesaria para que tomes las decisiones correctas.
Para orar:
Señor Dios, te doy muchas gracias porque tú cuidas de mí. Aun cuando hay dificultades yo sé que estás en control de mi vida. Provee lo que yo realmente necesito, no aquello que quiero. Ayuda también a mi familia, a la Iglesia, a mis hermanos en Cristo y amigos con sus necesidades diarias. Bendice nuestro planeta y suple las necesidades de todos los pueblos, Señor. Dame sabiduría para administrar bien los recursos que me das. Abre puertas, Padre, y haz tu voluntad en mí, así como en el cielo, En el nombre de Jesús, amén.
The God Who Provides
Genesis 22:7-8
Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together.
These verses tell a moment of great trial that Abraham spent with his son, Isaac. It is the well-known story in which God tested the patriarch’s faith by asking him to give him his beloved son. It was certainly a test like no other, but hardly a test, for God did not want Isaac to die. Abraham showed that he had faith in God by obeying Him in everything. He knew that the Lord who had bestowed upon him the promised son is faithful and that, if necessary, he would resurrect him or provide the lamb for sacrifice. And so it was: God provided! That’s why you can be sure that He will also provide every need in your life.
– Philippians 4:19
My God will therefore supplement all that you lack according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
As in this story, sometimes our faith is put to the test. Even if we do not understand the circumstances we need to trust in the Lord because through the struggles we face we learn to rely more on him. Have employment, health treatment, material resources, what to wear, etc… all are important needs. But we must first seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness.
– Matthew 6:31-33
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Support your faith entirely in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob because he will supply all your needs for his praise and glory.
Through faith God will provide:
• Trust in God fully. He is faithful and fulfills His Word.
• Pray and put your whole life under the care of the Lord.
God will provide what you need. But remember that sometimes it may not be compatible with what you want him to do.
Rest in God’s provision. But work and take advantage of the opportunities he brings into your life.
Seek constant guidance in the Word of God. He provides the wisdom necessary for you to make the right choices.
Prayer:
Lord God, I thank you so much because you take care of me. Even though there are difficulties I know you’re in control of my life. You provide what I really need, not what I want. You also help my family, the Church, my brothers in Christ and friends with their daily needs. Bless our planet and supplement the needs of all people, Lord. Give me wisdom to manage well the resources you give me. Open doors, Father, and do your will in me, as well as in heaven. In the name of Jesus, amen.
