Jueces 6:12
Y el ángel de Jehová se le apareció, y le dijo: Jehová está contigo, varón esforzado y valiente.
A través de la biblia vemos como Dios escogió hombres y mujeres para una misión específica y especial; en el caso de Gedeon, el Señor sabia de la situación que vivian los israelitas, por eso le reafirma primero, con su eterno amor, diciéndole que siempre está con él y segundo lo llama (estableciendo un decreto profético de acuerdo a su llamado) cómo él era visto ante los ojos de Dios. Sin embargo, Gedeon, viviendo en un tiempo difícil en el cual los Madianitas eran opresores, al escuchar ese extraño saludo y lo que se le estaba asignando, contesta:
“Ah, señor mío, ¿con qué salvaré yo a Israel? He aquí que mi familia es pobre en Manasés, y yo el menor en la casa de mi padre.”Jueces 6:15
De esta misma manera, podríamos sentirnos nosotros ahora, en un tiempo de tanta incertidumbre y no creyendo que Dios está con nosotros, ni tampoco creyendo que hemos sido escogidos para una asignación exclusiva e importante.
Y quizá nos actuamos como Gedeón dudando y queriendo recibir confirmación, tras confirmación de que Dios nos está llamando.
Jueces 6:37
He aquí que yo pondré un vellón de lana en la era; y si el rocío estuviere en el vellón solamente, quedando seca toda la otra tierra, entonces entenderé que salvarás a Israel por mi mano, como lo has dicho.
Gedeón no creía tener la fortaleza para poder derrotar a los madianitas, él no se podía ver a sí mismo como alguien que podía hacer grandes cosas para Dios. Él tenía un concepto muy humilde e insignificante de si mismo. Era verdad que él no podría salvar a Israel, pero un gran Dios podría utilizar a un pequeño y débil Gedeón para rescatar a Israel.
Lo importante es que Él nos escogió para cumplir una asignación divina y Él va a estar con nosotros.
Gedeón se humilló y levantó altar de adoración a Dios y después de esto recibió dirección de lo que debía hacer. Así mismo, solo en comunión con Dios podremos cumplir nuestro llamado y recibir todos los recursos que necesitamos para el cumplimiento de la asignación que nos ha encomendado.
Gedeón tenía la fuerza de los débiles, y la fortaleza de Dios es perfeccionada en la debilidad
2 Corintios 12:9
Y me ha dicho: Bástate mi gracia; porque mi poder se perfecciona en la debilidad. Por tanto, de buena gana me gloriaré más bien en mis debilidades, para que repose sobre mí el poder de Cristo.
Aparentemente Gedeón era un hombre sencillo viviendo una vida muy ordinaria.
No te asombres de que Dios use personas que tú nunca creiste que podrían hablarte de parte de Dios, o en el lugar menos esperado, Él te hable.
No lo dudes más! es Él quien te está llamando, tú eres a quién El ha escogido para esa misión super especial.
Oración
En este tiempo Padre donde todo parece tan incierto quiero más que nunca ser sensible a tu voz. Habla fuerte a mi corazón, que sea el fuego de tu Santo Espíritu ardiendo en mi, llevándome al destino divino que Tú tienes trazado para mi. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén!
He chose you!
Judges 6:12
And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said, The Lord is with you, you mighty man.
Throughout the bible we see how God chose men and women for a specific and special mission. In the case of Gideon, the Lord knew about the situation the Israelites lived, so He reaffirms first, with His eternal love, telling him that He is always with him and secondly He calls him (establishing a prophetic decree according to His call) how he was seen in the eyes of God. However, Gideon, living in a difficult time in which the Midianites were oppressors, upon hearing that strange greeting and what was being assigned to him, replies:
“Ah, my lord, how can I save Israel? Behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” Judges 6:15
In the same way, we could feel now, in a time of so much uncertainty and not believing that God is with us, nor believing that we have been chosen for an exclusive and important assignment.
And perhaps we act like Gideon doubting and wanting to receive confirmation, after confirmation that God is calling us.
Judges 6:37
Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the era; and if the dew is only on the fleece, leaving the whole other land dry, then I will understand that you will save Israel by my hand, as you have said.
Gideon did not believe he had the strength to defeat the Midianites, he could not see himself as someone who could do great things for God. He had a very humble and insignificant concept of himself. It was true that he could not save Israel, but a great God could use a weak little Gideon to rescue Israel.
The important thing is that He chose us to fulfill a divine assignment and He is going to be with us.
Gideon humbled himself and built an altar of worship to God and after this he received direction on what to do. Likewise, only in communion with God can we fulfill our call and receive all the resources we need to fulfill the assignment that has been entrusted to us.
Gideon had the strength of the weak, and the strength of God is made perfect in weakness
2 Corinthians 12: 9
And He said to me: My grace is sufficient for you; because my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will gladly rather glory in my weaknesses than the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Gideon was apparently a simple man living a very ordinary life.
Do not be surprised that God uses people that you never believed could speak to you on behalf of God, or in the least expected place, He speaks to you.
Do not hesitate! It is He who is calling you, you are the one He has chosen for that super special mission.
Prayer:
In this time Father, where everything seems so uncertain, I want more than ever to be sensitive to your voice. Speak loudly to my heart, may it be the fire of your Holy Spirit burning in me, leading me to the divine destiny that You have outlined for me. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
