Dios quiere que crezcas. Tristemente, millones de cristianos están atascados. Es como si fueran bebés espirituales con pañales; y no quieren crecer. ¿Pero quién quiere ser un bebé para siempre?
El objetivo de tu Padre celestial es que desarrolles las características de Jesucristo. El discipulado —proceso de llegar a ser como Cristo— siempre comienza con una decisión. Tienes que querer, decidir y hacer el esfuerzo de crecer. Cuando los primeros discípulos escogieron seguir a Jesús no entendían todo lo que él les pediría. Sencillamente respondieron a la invitación de Jesús. Eso es también lo único que necesitas para empezar.
Una vez decidas tomarte en serio tu crecimiento espiritual, empieza a actuar de forma distinta. Así como empezaste a vestirte y a alimentarte tú solo, hace unos pocos años, será necesario abandonar ciertas rutinas viejas. Desarrolla algunos nuevos hábitos como leer la Biblia tú solo, pregunta a tu madre, tu padre o a un maestro sobre Dios y ora por tu familia. El Espíritu Santo te ayudará con esos cambios. Y pronto dejarás atrás esos procederes de bebé.
Oración
Señor, quiero que mi fe madure y crezca. No parece sencillo, pero te ruego que me ayudes a entrar en una rutina que profundice mi fe.
Day 198 • Are You a Baby?
When Jesus was leaving, he saw a man named Matthew sitting in the tax collector’s booth. Jesus said to him, “Follow me,” and he stood up and followed Jesus.

God wants you to grow up. Sadly, millions of Christians are stuck. It’s like they are spiritual babies in diapers—and they don’t want to grow. But who wants to be a baby forever?
Your heavenly Father’s goal is for you to develop the characteristics of Jesus Christ. Discipleship—the process of becoming like Christ—always begins with a decision. You must want, decide, and make an effort to grow. When the first disciples chose to follow Jesus, they didn’t understand all he would require. They simply responded to Jesus’ invitation. That’s all you need to get started too.
Once you decide to get serious about growing spiritually, start to act in new ways. Just like you started putting on your own clothes and feeding yourself a few years ago, you will need to let go of some old routines. Develop some new habits like reading the Bible on your own, asking your mom or dad or a teacher about God, and praying for your family. The Holy Spirit will help you with these changes. And soon you’ll leave those baby ways behind.

God, I want my faith to mature and grow. It doesn’t sound easy, but would you please help me get into a routine to deepen my faith?
