Quieres convertirte en campeón de ajedrez. Lees las normas, ganas una partida, y no vuelves a jugar nunca más. Sin embargo, afirmas ostentar el título de campeón extraordinario de ajedrez. Hmm, no es así como funciona.
Cualquier cosa que quieras hacer con tu vida, que merezca la pena, requiere trabajo y dedicación. Si de verdad quieres ser campeón de ajedrez, jugarás una y otra vez sin cesar, aprenderás estrategias y buscarás la forma de leer la mente de tus oponentes. Para convertirte en campeón jugarás durante años y seguirás practicando para no perder tu título.
Entregar tu vida a Dios no es tampoco cuestión de una sola vez. Puedes confesar tu pecado y pedirle a Jesucristo que entre en tu vida, pero esto no es el final de la historia. Él quiere hacer que tu fe y tu amistad con él crezcan. Esto requiere dedicación. Exige práctica. No puedes escatimar tiempo. ¿Estás listo para convertirte en un campeón para Dios? Está esperando para enseñarte las normas y la estrategia. ¿Te tomarás el tiempo para ello?
Oración
Señor, hay muchas cosas que quiero hacer con mi vida. Servirte a ti tiene que ser lo primero, pero también necesito dedicación para hacerlo. Te ruego que me muestres cuán gran campeón puedo llegar a ser para ti si empleo el tiempo suficiente.

Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

You want to become a chess champion. You read the rules, win one game, and then you never play again. But you claim you hold the title of chess champion extraordinaire. Um, that’s not how it works.
Anything you want to do with your life that counts takes work and dedication. If you really want to be a chess champion, you are going to play over and over, learn strategy, and figure out how to read your opponents. To become a champion, you will play for years and keep practicing so you don’t lose your title.
Giving your life to God is not a one-time deal either. You can confess your sin and ask Jesus Christ into your life, but that’s not the end of the story. He wants to grow your faith and your friendship with him. That takes dedication. It takes practice. You can’t skimp on the time. Are you ready to become a champion for God? He’s waiting to teach you the rules and the strategy. Will you take the time?
Prayer
God, there are many things I want to do with my life. Serving you needs to be first, but I need the dedication to do it. Please show me how great a champion I can be for you if I put in the time.
