Al ver el valor de Pedro y de Juan, y como sabían que ellos eran gente del pueblo y sin mucha preparación, se maravillaron al reconocer que habían estado con Jesús. (HECHOS 4.13, RVC)
Pasar tiempo con Jesús hace que seamos más de lo que somos sin él. Basta con hacerte sonreír: Pedro y Juan no solo eran personas sin educación, sino también corrientes.
Esto significa que hay mucha esperanza para el resto de nosotros. ¿Quién no se ha sentido tonto en alguna ocasión? ¿Quién no se siente ordinario o corriente otras veces? Dios nos cuenta esta historia para hacernos saber que no importa. Jesús es quien nos hace especiales. Es quien nos hace extraordinarios. Quien nos hace más listos de lo que somos en realidad. ¡Qué Dios tan bueno!
Por tanto, en esos días en que podrías sentirte corriente, recuerda que estás en buena compañía. Pedro y Juan eran dos de los discípulos entrañables que marcaron una asombrosa diferencia para bien. Si Jesús pudo trabajar con ellos, desde luego puede hacerlo contigo.

Señor, gracias porque no tengo que ser un erudito para que me puedas usar. Soy especial sencillamente porque me hiciste y me siento muy agradecido.
Day 184 • Awesomely Ordinary
When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
(ACTS 4:13)
Hanging out with Jesus makes us more than who we are without him. It’s enough to make you smile: Peter and John weren’t just unschooled, but they were ordinary too.
That means there’s a whole lot of hope for the rest of us. Who hasn’t felt stupid on occasion? Who doesn’t feel ordinary or plain other times? God tells us this story to let us know: it doesn’t matter. Jesus is the one who makes us special. He is the one who makes us extraordinary. He is the one who makes us smarter than we actually are. What a good God!
So on those days when you might be feeling ordinary, remember that you are in good company. Peter and John were two of the treasured disciples who made an amazing difference for good. If Jesus could work with them, he can definitely work with you.

Lord, thank you that I don’t have to be a scholar to be used by you. I’m special simply because you made me, and I am so grateful.
