Dios quiere que disfrutes usando la forma que te ha dado. La Biblia dice: «Asegúrate de hacer lo que debes, porque después disfrutarás la satisfacción personal de haber hecho tu trabajo bien, y no necesitas compararte con cualquier otro». Satanás tratará de robarte el gozo del servicio de dos maneras: tentándote para que compares tu ministerio al de otros, y tentándote a conformar tu ministerio a las expectativas de los otros. Ambas son trampas mortales que te distraerán de servir según la manera en que Dios quiere que lo sirvas. En el momento que pierdas el gozo en tu ministerio, comienza a considerar si una de estas tentaciones es la causa. La Biblia nos advierte que nunca nos comparemos con otros: «Haz tu propio trabajo bien, para que entonces tengas de qué estar orgulloso. Pero no te compares con otros». Hay dos razones por las que nunca debes comparar tu forma, tu ministerio o sus resultados con ningún otro. Primero, encontrarás siempre a alguien que parece estar haciendo mejor trabajo que el tuyo y eso te desanimará. O hallarás siempre a alguien que parece que no es tan efectivo como tú y eso te llenará de orgullo. Cualquiera de estas actitudes te pondrán fuera de servicio y te robarán tu gozo.
Pablo dice que es necio compararnos con otros: «No nos atrevemos a igualarnos ni a compararnos con algunos que tanto se recomiendan a sí mismos. Al medirse con su propia medida y compararse unos con otros, no saben lo que hacen». La Biblia El Mensaje lo parafrasea así: «En todas estas comparaciones, calificaciones y competencias, ellos pierden completamente el punto».
Encontrarás personas que por no entender tu forma para ministrar te criticarán y tratarán de llevarte a lo que ellos piensan que debes hacer. Debes ignorarlas. Pablo tuvo que enfrentar críticos que malinterpretaron y difamaron su servicio. Su respuesta siempre fue la misma: Evita las comparaciones, resiste las exageraciones, y busca solo las recomendaciones de Dios.

DAY 32/Fourth part • Using What God Gave You
“You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

God wants you to enjoy using the shape he has given you. The Bible says, “Be sure to do what you should, for then you will enjoy the personal satisfaction of having done your work well, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.” Satan will try to steal the joy of service from you in a couple of ways: by tempting you to compare your ministry with others, and by tempting you to conform your ministry to the expectations of others. Both are deadly traps that will distract you from serving in the ways God intended. Whenever you lose your joy in ministry, start by considering if either one of these temptations is the cause.
The Bible warns us never to compare ourselves with others: “Do your own work well, and then you will have something to be proud of. But don’t compare yourself with others.” There are two reasons why you should never compare your shape, ministry, or the results of your ministry with anyone else. First, you will always be able to find someone who seems to be doing a better job than you and you will become discouraged. Or you will always be able to find someone who doesn’t seem as effective as you and you will get full of pride. Either attitude will take you out of service and rob you of your joy.
Paul said it is foolish to compare ourselves with others. He said, “We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.” The Message paraphrase says, “In all this comparing and grading and competing, they quite miss the point.”
You will find that people who do not understand your shape for ministry will criticize you and try to get you to conform to what they think you should be doing. Ignore them. Paul often had to deal with critics who misunderstood and maligned his service. His response was always the same: Avoid comparisons, resist exaggerations, and seek only God’s commendation.
