¿Has sido bautizado? Jesús afirma que este hermoso acto es importante para todos los que componen su familia. ¿Por qué tiene tanta importancia el bautismo? Anuncia de forma pública al mundo: «No me avergüenzo de ser parte de la familia de Dios». Y simboliza uno de los propósitos divinos para tu vida: participar de su familia eterna.
Tu bautismo declara:
«Tengo fe en Dios».
«Jesús murió y resucitó para mí».
«Jesús me proporciona nueva vida».
«¡Me siento tan feliz de formar parte de la familia de Dios!».
En el Nuevo Testamento, las personas se bautizaban en cuanto creían. El día de Pentecostés, tres mil fueron bautizados el mismo día en que aceptaron a Cristo. Un dirigente etíope se bautizó en el acto, después de que Felipe, un discípulo, le hablara de Jesús. Pablo y Silas bautizaron a un carcelero filipense y a su familia a medianoche.
Tu bautismo es la imagen física de una verdad espiritual. No te convierte en miembro de la familia de Dios, ya que solo la fe en Cristo consigue esto. Sin embargo, el bautismo demuestra la realidad de que formas parte de su familia.
Oración:
Señor, a veces puede resultar aterrador anunciar en público que soy un seguidor de Jesús. Es más fácil guardármelo para mí mismo. Ayúdame a ser valiente y a compartir mi fe con los demás por medio del bautismo.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Have you been baptized? Jesus says this beautiful act is important for everyone in his family. Why is baptism so important? It publicly announces to the world, “I am not ashamed to be a part of God’s family.” And, it symbolizes one of God’s purposes for your life: participating in his eternal family.
Your baptism says:
“I have faith in God.”
“Jesus died and rose again for me.”
“Jesus gives me new life.”
“I’m so happy to be part of God’s family.”
In the New Testament, people were baptized as soon as they believed. At Pentecost, 3,000 were baptized the same day they accepted Christ. An Ethiopian leader was baptized on the spot after learning about Jesus from Philip, a disciple. Paul and Silas baptized a Philippian jailer and his family at midnight.
Your baptism is a physical picture of a spiritual truth. It doesn’t make you a member of God’s family; only faith in Christ does that. But baptism shows you are part of God’s family.
Prayer:
God, sometimes it can be scary to publicly announce that I’m a follower of Jesus. It’s easier to just keep it to myself. Help me be bold and share my faith with others through baptism.
