Dios creó a todos los seres humanos, pero no todos son «hijos de Dios». La única forma de entrar en la familia de Dios es «nacer» en ella. Te convertiste en parte de tu familia humana cuando viniste al mundo, pero te haces miembro de la familia de Dios mediante un segundo nacimiento.
Cuando depositas tu fe en Cristo, Dios se convierte en tu Padre. Entonces tú pasas a ser su hijo y los demás creyentes son tus hermanos y hermanas. La iglesia es tu familia espiritual, que incluye a todos los cristianos del pasado, el presente y el futuro.
¿Y sabes qué? Tu familia espiritual es incluso más importante que la física, porque durará para siempre. Nuestra familia en la tierra es un regalo maravilloso de Dios, pero es temporal y frágil. Es posible que tus padres estén divorciados. Tus abuelos no están vivos, quizás. Hasta podría ser que no estuvieras cerca de tu familia terrenal. Y si lo estás, todos acaban envejeciendo y muriendo. A pesar de ellos, tu familia espiritual seguirá existiendo mucho después de esto. En el cielo disfrutaremos de la familia de ”ios para siempre. Nunca que romperá ni se dividirá. Dios la mantiene unida. Es una unión mucho más fuerte y un vínculo más permanente que las relaciones de sangre.
Oración:
Jesús, me diste la bienvenida a tu familia cuando te acepté como mi Salvador. Gracias por mi familia aquí en la tierra y por esa familia que dura para siempre
Day 141 • God’s Kid
All honor to God, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ; for it is his boundless mercy that has given us the privilege of being born again so that we are now members of God’s own family. (1 PETER 1:3ª, TLB)
God created every human being, but not everyone is a “child of God.” The only way to get into God’s family is by being “born” into it. You became part of the human family by your first birth, but you become a member of God’s family by a second birth.
When you place your faith in Christ, God becomes your Father. You become his child, and other believers become your brothers and sisters. The church even becomes your spiritual family, which includes all Christians in the past, the present, and the future.
Guess what—your spiritual family is even more important than your physical family, because it will last forever. Our families on Earth are wonderful gifts from God, but they are temporary and fragile. Your parents may be divorced. Your grandparents may not be alive. You may not even be close to your earthly family. Even if you are, eventually everyone grows old and dies. Yet your spiritual family will continue long after that. In Heaven we will enjoy God’s family forever. That family will never break down or split up. God holds it together. It is a much stronger union and a more permanent bond than blood relationships.
Prayer:
Jesus, you welcomed me into your family when I accepted you as my Savior. Thank you for my family here on Earth and for my family that lasts forever.
