DÍA 142 • ¿Amar a todo el mundo?

Todos los que habían creído eran de un mismo sentir y de un mismo pensar. Ninguno reclamaba como suyo nada de lo que poseía… Y no había entre ellos ningún necesitado. 
(HECHOS 4.32, 34ª, RVC)

¿A cuántas personas amas? ¿Dos, tres, cinco, diez? Tal vez tengas una gran familia y un montón de buenos amigos y podrías decir que amas (o al menos te caen bien) a veinte personas. Ahora, piensa con cuántas de esas personas compartirías cualquier cosa que tuvieras. ¿Ha disminuido el número?

Justo después de que Jesús abandonara la tierra, sus seguidores estaban tan llenos de amor que se amaban los unos a los otros… literalmente. Se aseguraban de que todos tuvieran suficiente comida y un lugar donde dormir. Juntaban sus posesiones y las compartían. Era como la primera banda de Robin Hood y sus valientes.

Hoy en día resulta difícil amar a otras personas de la misma manera. O solo amamos lo bastante a unas cuantas como para ayudarlas siempre que lo necesiten. Pero lo fantástico es que Dios nos da su amor a nosotros para que podamos transmitirlo a otras. Y cuando amamos de verdad, no hay dificultad en compartir con ellas o ayudarlas. El verdadero amor fluirá sencillamente de nuestro interior. ¿Por qué no le pides a Dios que extienda tu círculo de amor? Algún día podría crecer a más de veinte personas.

Oración:

Señor, ¿querrías llenar mi corazón de amor por quienes me rodean y hasta por las personas que no quiera amar? Tu amor verdadero es sorprendente.

Day 142 • Love Everybody?

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had … There were no needy persons among them.
(ACTS 4:32, 34ª)

Count how many people you love. Two or three, five, ten? Perhaps you have a big family and lots of good friends and could say that you love (or at least like!) twenty people. Now, count how many of those people you would share anything you own with. Did the number just drop?

Just after Jesus left Earth, his followers were so full of love that they all loved each other—literally. They made sure everyone had enough to eat and a place to sleep. They brought their possessions together and gave them away. It was like the first band of Robin Hood and his merry men.

These days, it’s hard to love others in quite the same way. Or we only love a few people enough to help them any time they need it. But the cool thing is that God gives his love to us so we can pass it on to others. And when we really love others, it’s not hard to share or help them out. True love will just flow out of us. So why not ask God to expand your circle of love? It could grow to more than twenty someday.

Prayer:

Lord, will you fill my heart with love for those around me and even for people I don’t want to love? Your true love is amazing.
