SEÑOR, recuérdame lo breve que será mi tiempo sobre la tierra. Recuérdame que mis días están contados, ¡y cuán fugaz es mi vida!

En California, donde vivo, muchas personas han llegado y se han trasladado de otras partes del mundo para trabajar aquí. Siguen siendo ciudadanos de su país natal, y tienen una tarjeta de visitante aquí en los Estados Unidos (llamada “tarjeta verde”). Esta les permite permanecer allí y trabajar.
Los cristianos deberían ser titulares de una «tarjeta verde» espiritual que nos recuerde que nuestra ciudadanía está, en realidad, en el cielo. Aunque Dios hizo la tierra para que nosotros disfrutáramos de ella, no viviremos aquí para siempre.
La Biblia describe la vida como una neblina, un corredor rápido, un suspiro y una brizna de humo. La vida en la tierra es breve. Tu verdadera patria es el cielo. Dios les dice a sus hijos que deben pensar en la vida de forma distinta. Hay mucho más que los pocos años que vivimos en este planeta. Viviremos con él para siempre en el cielo. Cuando creas esto, te preocuparás menos de la vida en la tierra y esperarás el hogar que te está aguardando.
Oración:
Señor, cuando me preocupe por la vida aquí en el tierra, ayúdame a recordar que mi hogar eterno está contigo en el cielo. Ayúdame a disfrutar también de mi tiempo aquí en la tierra, en tu creación.
Day 49 • Home Away from Home
LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered—how fleeting my life is.
(PSALM 39:4, NLT)
In California, where I live, many people have moved from other parts of the world to work here. They are still citizens of their home country, so they carry a visitor card here in the United States (called a “green card”). This card allows them to stay here and work.
Christians should carry spiritual “green cards” to remind us that our citizenship is really in Heaven. Although God made the earth for us to enjoy, we will not live here forever.
The bible describes life as a mist, a fast runner, a breath, and a wisp of smoke. Life on Earth is short. Your real homeland is Heaven. God says his children are to think differently about life: There is far more than the few years we live on this planet. We will live forever with him in Heaven. When you believe this, you will worry less about life on Earth and look forward to the forever home that is waiting for you.
Prayer
Lord, when I worry about life here on Earth, help me remember my forever home is with you in Heaven. Help me enjoy my time here on Earth in your creation too.
