Tal vez te preguntes: ¿Permitiría Dios que yo, su hijo, sufriera para alcanzar a una persona que no es salva? ¿Pero acaso no es eso lo que Jesús hizo por ti? Él soportó la cruz para que tú pudieras ser salvo. Así que obrará a través de ti en tiempos difíciles, porque nada llama la atención de un incrédulo como un santo que sufre triunfante.
Por ejemplo, leí acerca de un pastor que descubrió que su bebé nacería con síndrome de Down. Estuvo tentado a desanimarse, pero entonces leyó Éxodo 4:11, donde Dios le dijo a Moisés: «¿Quién ha hecho la boca del hombre? ¿O quién hace al hombre mudo o sordo, con vista o ciego? ¿No soy Yo, el SEÑOR?». Así que ese joven pastor declaró a su mujer: «El Señor nos ha bendecido con un niño con síndrome de Down». Aceptaron la situación con fe y, cuando nació el bebé, compartieron su alegría con todo el mundo. La noticia de su respuesta se extendió por todo el hospital. El domingo siguiente al nacimiento del niño, treinta enfermeras fueron a escuchar la predicación de ese pastor y acabaron confiando en Jesús como su Salvador.
Nunca subestimes la fuerza con que tu actitud piadosa ante una situación difícil puede afectar a los demás. Pase lo que pase, confía en Jesús y deja que Él actúe.

You may wonder, Would God allow me—His child—to hurt for the sake of reaching an unsaved person? But isn’t that what Jesus did for you? He endured the cross that you might be saved. So He will work through you during times of difficulty because nothing gets the attention of an unbeliever like a saint who is suffering successfully.
For example, I read of a pastor who discovered his baby would be born with Down syndrome. He was tempted to be disheartened, but then he read Exodus 4:11, where God said to Moses, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the LORD?” So this young pastor declared to his wife, “The Lord has blessed us with a child with Down syndrome.” They accepted the situation in faith and, when the baby was born, they shared their joy with everyone. News of their response spread throughout the hospital. The Sunday following the child’s birth, thirty nurses went to hear this pastor preach and ended up trusting Jesus as their Savior.
Never underestimate how powerfully your godly attitude to a difficult situation may affect others. Instead, whatever happens, trust Jesus and allow Him to work.
