Cuando la hija de mi amiga, Dina, ingresó al undécimo grado, algunas niñas de su clase comenzaron a publicar cosas falsas sobre ella en Snapchat. Cuando iba a la escuela, podía escuchar las risas a sus espaldas y los chistes que contaban. Cada día le parecía una pesadilla interminable.
Pronto, sus calificaciones comenzaron a bajar porque ya no podía concentrarse en sus tareas escolares. Estaba tan distraída por todo lo que sucedía a su alrededor que le resultó casi imposible mantenerse concentrada. Estaba pasando factura a su bienestar emocional y sentía como si su mundo se estuviera desmoronando.
Su madre notó el cambio en su hija y se preocupó. Su mamá le dijo que le abriera su corazón a Jesús y que Él se encargaría del resto. Dina siguió el consejo de su madre y esa noche, mientras yacía en la cama, susurró una sencilla oración. Al día siguiente en la escuela, una de las chicas que había estado publicando mentiras en Snapchat se acercó a ella y le pidió disculpas. Si acudimos a Jesús, Él siempre nos cubrirá y protegerá.
Oración: Señor Jesús, me duele el corazón. Por favor cúbreme y recoge mis lágrimas. Me concentraré en Ti, Señor, en lugar de en todas las distracciones que me rodean. Sé que quieres lo mejor para mí. Confío en que resolverás esto para mi bien.
Finding refuge in Jesus

When my friend’s daughter, Dina, entered the eleventh grade, some girls in her class began posting fake things about her on Snapchat. When she went to school, she could hear the laughter behind her back and the jokes they told. Every day felt like a never-ending nightmare for her.
Soon, her grades began to fall because she couldn’t concentrate on her schoolwork anymore. She was so distracted by all that was happening around her that it became nearly impossible for her to stay focused. It was taking a toll on her emotional well-being, and it felt like her world was falling apart.
Her mother noticed the change in her daughter, and she became concerned. Her mom told her to pour her heart out to Jesus, and He would take care of the rest. Dina took her mother’s advice, and that night, while she lay in bed, she whispered a simple prayer. The next day at school, one of the girls who had been posting lies on SnapChat came up to her and apologized. If we go to Jesus, He will always cover us and protect us.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, my heart is hurting. Please cover me and catch my tears. I will focus on You, Lord, instead of all the distractions around me. I know You want the best for me. I trust You will work this out for my good.
