Queremos cambiar, pero nos cuesta conseguir los objetivos que nos marcamos. «Algún día haré…» es el enemigo de «Hoy voy a hacer…», pero cuando el cambio nos resulta más doloroso que seguir igual, vacilamos entre nuestros deseos y nuestra comodidad.
A menudo también nos pasa lo mismo a la hora de rendirnos ante el Espíritu Santo. Él ansía hacer «cosas aun mayores» y, aunque esto nos pueda parecer muy atractivo, la comodidad de no hacer nada nos resulta tranquilizadora, segura y predecible. Pero finalmente vemos que Dios realmente es el lugar más seguro en el que depositar nuestras vidas. Conscientes de esto, nos gozamos en él a medida que nos moldea e inspira. Hemos sido creados para hacer buenas cosas.
Oración:
Gracias, Padre, por los cambios que estás haciendo en mi vida. Disfruto cuando tú me transformas y me sacas brillo, como la vajilla de plata que se utiliza en ocasiones especiales.
Make a Change
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. ROMANS 12:2 NIV
We want change, but we struggle to get or stay on task with our goals. “One day, I’ll…” is the enemy of “Today, I am…”; yet it seems that as long as change hurts more than staying the same, we vacillate between our desires and our comfort.
It Is often so with surrendering to the Holy Spirit. He longs to do “greater things than these,” and while this appeals to us, the comfort of doing nothing seems reassuring, safe, and predictable. We find, at last, that the center of God’s will truly is the safest place for our lives. Knowing that, we revel in him as he molds and inspires us. We were created to do good things.
Prayer:
Thank you, Father, for the changes you are making in my life. I enjoy being transformed by you, polished like the silver brought out for special occasions.
