Porque lo dice el excelso y sublime, el que vive para siempre, cuyo nombre es santo: «Yo habito en un lugar santo y sublime, pero también con el contrito y humilde de espíritu, para reanimar el espíritu de los humildes y alentar el corazón de los quebrantados». ISAÍAS 57:15 (NVI)
¿Qué tiene la noche que nos hace pensar en él? Nos dejamos caer sobre la cama, agotados por el día, y le susurramos, en medio de la oscuridad: «Te necesito. He echado de menos tu presencia». Y las lágrimas caen, el arrepentimiento llega, el corazón se abre y el espíritu se mueve. De repente, adviertes en la oscuridad que él tan solo está a un susurro de distancia. Nunca ha estado lejos, nunca tan distante como tú lo sentías.
Su presencia trae sanación inmediata y su cercanía restaura nuestras almas. Entre dos humanos, cuando ambas personas se distancian, la relación se ve dañada y esto hace difícil que sea posible avanzar. Pero en nuestra relación con el Señor, da igual la distancia que hayamos puesto entre nosotros y él: esta diferencia puede salvarse de inmediato y por completo. Lo único que hace falta es un susurro en la oscuridad invocando su nombre. Ese nombre que nos sana, nos restaura y nos hace volver a empezar de nuevo.
Oración:
Jesús, te necesito. Salva la distancia que hay entre nosotros dos y restáurame completamente en tu presencia.
The Whisper
This is what the high and exalted One says—he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.” ISAIAH 57:15 NIV
What is it about the night that turns our thoughts on him? We collapse into bed, exhausted from the day, and in the darkness we whisper out to him: “I need you. I’ve missed your presence.” And the tears fall, and repentance comes, and the heart opens, and the Spirit moves. And you realize all at once in the darkness that he is just a whisper away. He’s never been far, never as far as you felt.
His presence brings immediate healing and his closeness restores our souls. In human relationship, when there is distance between two people it damages the relationship and it makes it difficult to move forward. But in our relationship with the Lord, no matter how much distance we create between ourselves and him, we can always be immediately, wholly restored. All it takes is a whisper in the dark, calling on his name—the name that heals us, restores us, and starts us all over again.
Prayer:
Jesus, I need you. Erase the distance between us and restore me fully in your presence.
