Hay momentos en la vida que anhelamos el consejo de un amigo o un ser querido piadoso. Queremos que alguien hable con nosotros durante las dificultades que enfrentamos y nos recuerde todo lo que Dios ha provisto. No hay absolutamente nada malo en esto. Es más, a ningún cristiano se le ha pedido que «obre por cuenta propia» en su camino de fe. Estamos llamados a vivir en comunidad.
Sin embargo, y una vez dicho eso, debemos tener cuidado respecto a quién escuchar. La mayoría de las personas tendrá una opinión sobre el rumbo que debemos tomar, y por lo general nos orientarán en la dirección equivocada. La última persona de quien desearíamos recibir consejo es de aquella que desobedece continuamente al Padre.
Más bien, es esencial que busque a otros que obviamente están sometidos al Padre y le obedecen. Busque cristianos que comprendan con claridad cómo escuchar a Dios, que tengan relaciones fuertes con el Señor y vivan bajo su voluntad. Usted querrá alguien que evidentemente esté recorriendo el camino que Dios ha preparado, y que pueda ayudarle a hacer lo mismo.
Oración:
Jesús, quiero ser sabio respecto a quién debo escuchar. Guíame hacia otras personas que anden contigo y me ofrezcan consejo sabio. Amén.
COUNSEL FROM OTHERS
The person of understanding will acquire wise counsel. PROVERBS 1:5 AMP
There are moments in life when we crave the counsel of a godly friend or loved one. We want someone to walk with us through the difficulties of life and to remind us of all God has provided. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. In fact, no Christian has ever been called to “go it alone” in his or her walk of faith. We were called to live in community.
With that said, however, you need to be careful about whom you listen to. Most people will have an opinion about what course you should take, but some will point you in the wrong direction. The last person you want to get counsel from is somebody who is actively disobeying the Father.
Rather, it is crucial for you to look to others who are obviously submitted to the Father and obeying Him. Seek out Christians who clearly understand how to listen to God, have strong relationships with Him, and are living in His will. You want someone with whom it is very evident that he or she is walking in the center of His path for them—so they can help you do the same.
Prayer
Jesus, I want to be wise about who I listen to. Lead me to others who walk with You and will offer wise counsel. Amen.
