Enseña a otros. Si quieres continuar creciendo, la mejor manera de aprender más es enseñándoles a otros lo que has aprendido. Proverbios nos dice: «Quien bendice a otros es bendecido abundantemente; los que ayudan a otros son ayudados». Los que enseñan conocimientos reciben más de Dios.
Ahora que entiendes el propósito de tu vida, es tu responsabilidad llevar el mensaje a otros. Dios te llama para que seas su mensajero. Pablo dijo: «Yo quiero ahora que le digas esas mismas cosas a los seguidores en quienes puedes confiar para que las compartan a otros». En este libro te he mostrado lo que otros me enseñaron acerca del propósito de la vida; tu deber ahora es pasarlo a otras personas.
Probablemente conoces a cientos de personas que no saben cuál es el propósito de la vida. Comparte esas verdades con tus hijos, tus amigos, tus vecinos y tus compañeros de trabajo. Si le das este libro a un amigo, añádele una nota personal en la página de la dedicatoria.
Mientras más sepas, más espera Dios que uses ese conocimiento para ayudar a otros. Santiago dijo: «Cualquiera que sabiendo hacer lo bueno no lo hace, está pecando». El conocimiento aumenta la responsabilidad, pero trasmitir el propósito de la vida es mucho más que una obligación; este es uno de tus más grandes privilegios. Imagínate cuán diferente sería el mundo si cada uno conociera su propósito en la vida. Pablo dijo: «Si enseñas estas cosas a otros seguidores, serás un buen siervo de Cristo Jesús».
Todo es para la gloria de Dios
La razón por la cual enseñamos lo que aprendemos es para darle gloria a Dios y contribuir al crecimiento de su reino. La noche antes de su crucifixión, Jesús oró a su Padre: «Yo te he glorificado en la tierra, y he llevado a cabo la obra que me encomendaste». Cuando dijo estas palabras, no había muerto aún por nuestros pecados, así que, ¿cuál era la «obra» que había llevado a cabo? En esa ocasión se estaba refiriendo a algo diferente a la expiación. La respuesta está en lo que afirmó en los siguientes veinte versículos de su oración.
Jesús le dijo a su Padre lo que había estado haciendo los últimos tres años: entrenando a sus discípulos para que siguieran los propósitos de Dios. Los ayudó a conocer y amar a Dios (adoración), enseñándoles a amarse los unos a los otros (compañerismo), les dio la Palabra para que pudieran crecer y madurar (discipulado), les mostró cómo servir (ministerio), y los envió a decirles a otros el mensaje (evangelismo). Jesús modeló una vida con propósito y también les enseñó a otros cómo vivirla. Este era el «trabajo» que glorificaba a Dios.
Hoy Dios nos llama a cada uno a hacer lo mismo, no solo porque quiere que cumplamos sus propósitos, sino porque desea que ayudemos a otros a hacer lo mismo. Él quiere que les presentemos a Cristo y los traigamos a su compañerismo, ayudándolos a crecer en madurez y a descubrir su lugar de servicio, para luego enviarlos a alcanzar a otros.
Esto es lo que significa vivir con propósito. Independientemente de tu edad, el resto de tu vida puede ser lo mejor de ella, y puedes empezar a vivir con propósito hoy mismo.

DAY 39/Fourth part • Balancing Your Life
Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else.

Pass on what you know to others. If you want to keep growing, the best way to learn more is to pass on what you have already learned. Proverbs tells us, “The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.” Those who pass along insights get more from God.
Now that you understand the purpose of life, it is your responsibility to carry the message to others. God is calling you to be his messenger. Paul said, “Now I want you to tell these same things to followers who can be trusted to tell others.” In this book I have passed on to you what others taught me about the purpose of life; now it’s your duty to pass that on to others.
You probably know hundreds of people who do not know the purpose of life. Share these truths with your children, your friends, your neighbors, and those you work with. If you give this book to a friend, add your personal note on the dedication page.
The more you know, the more God expects you to use that knowledge to help others. James said, “Anyone who knows the right thing to do, but does not do it, is sinning.” Knowledge increases responsibility. But passing along the purpose of life is more than an obligation; it’s one of life’s greatest privileges. Imagine how different the world would be if everyone knew their purpose. Paul said, “If you teach these things to other followers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus.”
It’s All for God’s Glory
The reason we pass on what we learn is for the glory of God and the growth of his kingdom. The night before he was crucified, Jesus reported to his Father, “I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.” 16 When Jesus prayed these words, he had not yet died for our sins, so what “work” had he completed? In this instance he was referring to something other than the atonement. The answer lies in what he said in the next twenty verses of his prayer.
Jesus told his Father what he had been doing for the last three years: preparing his disciples to live for God’s purposes. He helped them to know and love God (worship), taught them to love each other (fellowship), gave them the Word so they could grow to maturity (discipleship), showed them how to serve (ministry), and sent them out to tell others (mission). Jesus modeled a purpose-driven life, and he taught others how to live it, too. That was the “work” that brought glory to God.
Today God calls each of us to the same work. Not only does he want us to live out his purposes, he also wants us to help others do the same. God wants us to introduce people to Christ, bring them into his fellowship, help them grow to maturity and discover their place of service, and then send them out to reach others, too.
This is what purpose-driven living is all about. Regardless of your age, the rest of your life can be the best of your life, and you can start living on purpose today.
