Todas estas personas murieron aún creyendo lo que Dios les había prometido. Y aunque no recibieron lo prometido lo vieron desde lejos y lo aceptaron con gusto… buscaban un lugar mejor, una patria celestial. Por eso, Dios no se avergüenza de ser llamado el Dios de ellos, pues les ha preparado una ciudad.

Pese a que el apóstol Pablo fue fiel, acabó en prisión. Juan el Bautista fue fiel, pero lo decapitaron. Millones de personas fieles se han enfrentado a un destino similar, perdiéndolo todo incluso la vida. ¡No obstante, la muerte no es el fin!
Escuché una vez una antigua historia sobre un misionero que regresaba a casa, en los Estados Unidos, en el mismo barco que el presidente. Esperando al presidente al final del viaje había una multitud que lo aclamaba, una banda militar, una alfombra roja, banderas y los medios de comunicación. Sin embargo, nadie notó al misionero cuando descendió del barco. Sintiéndose menospreciado, empezó a quejarse a Dios. Entonces Dios le recordó bondadosamente: «Pero, hijo mío, todavía no has llegado a casa».
Tu tiempo en la tierra no es toda la historia de tu vida. Tienes que esperar a llegar al cielo para vivir el resto de los capítulos. Será una historia maravillosa.
Oración:
Resulta difícil ver cómo ocurren cosas malas a los que son fieles seguidores de Cristo. Señor, dame paciencia mientras espero ver cómo se desarrolla el resto de mi historia.
Day 54 • Next Chapter
All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance … They were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. (HEBREWS 11:13, 16)
The apostle Paul was faithful, yet he ended up in prison. John the Baptist was faithful, but he was beheaded. Millions of faithful people have faced a similar fate, losing everything or being killed. But the end of life is not the end!
I heard an old story about a missionary coming home to America on the same boat as the president of the United States. Cheering crowds, a military band, a red carpet, banners, and the media welcomed the president home. But nobody noticed the missionary get off the ship. Feeling let down, he began complaining to God. Then God gently reminded him, “But my child, you’re not home yet.”
Your time on Earth Is not the complete picture of your life. You must wait until Heaven for the rest of the chapters. It’ll be a wonderful story.
Prayer
It is hard to see bad things happen to those who are faithful followers of Christ. Give me patience, Lord, as I wait to see the rest of my story unfold.
